What are your kids asking for Christmas?

DS9 wants an Ipod Nano (not the new one) and Legos. Ill probably get him some Star Wars stuff and a game or two as well.

DD11 Ipod Nano, clothes, jewelry, art stuff, baking stuff . I found some cute accesory stuff at Claires I'll probably pick up for her too.'

DD17 wants a car (probably will get one at tax time) but she is getting an ipod dock for her touch, a digital voice recorder for college next year, some jeans, Just Dance2 for Wii, and probably a college hoodie, if she decides before Christmas where she is going.

They'll all probably get some little odds and ends stuff too, makeup, fun socks, gift cards for the girls, action figures, etc..for my son.

The hot items in my daughter's first grade class have been Squinkies, Barbie, Zhu Zhu Pets and Calico Critters along with certain electronics like Ipads, DSIs, Wii, etc.

DD7 is getting Wii Rock Band as her big gift, then we also have bought her another Wii game that is multiplayer, a type of detective game called Guilty Party. I bought her a couple of DSI games, but I buy her ones that are like ten to fifteen dollars a piece.

I bought her a PD cook book for kids, with the PD kid's baking set and a kid size chef's hat/apron/potholder, etc. I purchased her an Usborne Art book with piles of ideas for different arts and crafts and also purchased supplies (crayons, markers, pastels, paints, glue, different types of paper, etc) and put it in a lidded container. I bought her a couple of ICANREAD packs-Nancy Ann and Amelia Bedelia.

I purchased a couple of board games and a Groovy Girl doll, GG horse, two outfits and a chaise lounge. It is a doll she can play with but that is cuddly at the same time. I purchased the Barbie Glam House (got it for twenty bucks on Amazon, now 35) and the hot pink car with zebra seats. A couple of Ravensburger puzzles and a few movies (Despicable Me, Toy Story 3, How to Train A Dragon).

Her brother (21yo) has gotten her a little Ipod (Nano?), her other brother (22yo) has gotten her a radio dock? for her little Ipod that changes colors, her sister(23yo) has bought her some cute outfits and some costume jewelry (CP now sells really cute kid's costume jewelry) and some play makeup and her last brother (20yo) is giving her legos.

Gma and Gpa bought her a Disney Princess and me Belle doll and tea set for her bday, so they will buy more accessories to go with it-Belle's winter gown with coak, her jammie set, vanity set and ballerina outfit (DD takes ballet)

It might seem excessive, however the Wii Rock Band and games and board games are something we do as a family, the cooking stuff, again is a family activity and both this and the art stuff keep her busy the two weeks she is out of school and my husband takes the two weeks off also. We all like to cook together so it is quality time and cheaper than paying to go do stuff outside the home. The Groovy Girl stuff and Barbie is for her to play with by herself and was cheap and the movies are something we do as a family too.

I think she could wait a couple years for the Ipod Nano, but it is not my money and she knows how to use it bc she plays her bros and sis' Ipods when they come to visit.

She is our last one until grandchildren, so we do spoil her a little, but she is sweet and grateful for anything she gets. I also do my shopping all year long and I have been finished for a couple of weeks. Oh, I know her best friend is getting her a Lalaloopsie? doll and she got her one too. (Her bf mom and I bought them, the girls do not know yet).

DD almost 10 is asking for:

books
legos
Wii sports resort
bakugan
bey blades
dvd's

I'm sure that she will add some more things to her list soon.

DS10 wants duct tape. He loves to build stuff out of duct tape. If he had his way, he'd go through a roll of it a week. He also wants broken VCR's, TV's etc... He enjoys taking them apart. I'm having a tough time figuring what to get him - I can't just wrap up a sleave of duct tape and a broken TV <sigh> I'll be anxiously watching your thread to see if any suggestions sound up his alley.

LOL my younger two want duct tape in their stockings...what is it with that stuff? Look into Snap Circuits for your son. I got my ds some last Christmas and he has had a blast with them. We just got a basic set, but it has like 100 projects. Doorbell, alien ufo noisemaker thing, light bar, etc. Its really fun and pretty easy to do. Even dd11 plays with it sometimes. Their are bigger sets as well...check amazon.!

I though that was a done deal--where else is she considering now? Has she been getting volleyball offers?

DD10 and DD7 want Pillow Pets (which they are getting from their Aunt) and new MP3 players (which they are probably getting from me - I need to watch the sales flyers...). They also want a puppy, which they are NOT getting.

DD16 wants the new Epic Mickey game for Wii, which I want too, so that's convenient ;).

The whole family got a trip to WDW 3 weeks ago, and it was understood that that was an early Xmas present this year for everyone, so the under-the-tree gifts may be a little sparse this year.

Epic Mickey looks so awesome! Did you know you could by a type of electric paintbrush to go with it? I am worried I would not be any good at it. I wish they had turn based games like back in the day.:upsidedow

My son is JUST like this! He takes everything apart, whether he's supposed to or not. He rarely puts anything back together.

My 21yo was like this when he was little.:goodvibes But he could put them back together. He wanted play tools that really worked, stuff to build, hot wheels race set and Power Rangers. I distinctly remember this particular Christmas bc at the time I was a single mom not receiving support for him and I had just been laid off and the engine went up in my car (it was like one of those bad country songs), I swallowed my pride and signed him up for the Pick-An-Angel program and some incredible person gifted this for him. :lovestruc He was always tinkering with things and even to this day I can count on him to repair things and put things together. :cheer2:

Well yeah it has changed..lol...she decided out of the blue that she MAY want to go away to college. Which surprised the heck out of me, because she doesn't even like to spend the night at friends houses, let alone be in another state living by herself.

There is a community college in Iowa that is interested in her for volleyball. We actually waiting for their season to finish up and then the coach is going to get in touch with us again.. DD decided that maybe a 2 yr is a good compromise to going away because if she doesn't like it, she's not committed long term. Plus she decided that even though she was ready for volleyball to be over, that she really isn't all that ready to be done and wants to consider college ball. Since its a cc, it won't be a huge commitment, but will allow her to play a bit longer. And there is possibly a scholarship involved, so financially that would be a plus too.

She already applied to UWRF and thats her #1. If the volleyball thing doesn't work out, she's going to stick with UWRF.

Alot to work out in the next few months..thats for sure!

We stacked duct tape one on top of the other and wrapped it up for my son for Christmas when he was 7. It was taller than he was.

In addition, we bought him a bunch of PVC pipes from Home Depot and some of the insulating foam that you wrap around pipes.

At 13, he will still tell you that it was the best present he has ever received. :rotfl2:

I wish we could go back to those days. Now he is into building the $300 Lego sets. :scared1: Duct tape and PVC was way cheaper!

OMG I remember the astronomical Lego sets. Our sons were into Legos quite a bit when they were younger. They had to save up their money and then get jobs to purchase those sets. With four kids there was no way.

My 10 year old is asking for an ipad (which she is not getting-she just got a laptop 10 months ago!)some accessories for her itouch, a nook, theater tickets, some books and I don't know whoat else yet

My DD12 loves duck tape with all the great colors they have. She makes wallets and purses. She is really into origami right now as well

My DS wants an air soft gun. And a game for his XBox( I'm drawing a blank right now which one!)
My DD wants either a futon for her dorm room or a TV for her dorm room. And a Beta fish! She said Santa could put it in her stocking.

My DD wants Legos also. Wow talk about sticker shock over 100 dollars for plastic squares.

My DS wants a small tire a real one. Im not sure why. Hey but he is four. And it's cheap.

when my son was that age, he loved that too. I used to bring hime home one i found on the side of he road with a free sign.

he had to be in PICU over night for test, and was hooked up to a heart moniter, well about 3 am he must have decided he was bored, and decided to take it apart with a screwdriver i didnt know he had packed in his bag, well from the nurses station it appear as a flatline and they called a code and all ran into his room, with the crash cart, to see the machine being disasmbled, the nurses were not happy when i got back there in the morning.

i stopped encoraging his dismantling of appliences after that.

he is now 19 and in his second year of college and this year has asked for one of those fur lined, flappy ear hats from LL Bean

My daughter 9 would like a little blue box from tiffany's, a couple of years ago it was Mikimotos,

i hope she not disppointed because she isnt getting them, she is getting a trip to disney instead.

Oldest DD (9yrs) wants an IPOD touch, but I don't think she needs that. I don't know much about IPODs really - just know someone said not to get the shuffle? Now I'm reading about Nano - what the heck does that mean? dh just got a nice MP3 by Sony and it comes in purple - we convinced her that maybe that was a good way to go?? But first what is an IPOD NANO?
She would love a mini laptop (no- maybe her birthday in March). She also would like a Barbie with the swimming pool and puppies (already have).

Younger DD (7yrs) would like the big Barbie Glamour Airplane - of course it was on sale a week or so ago and now isn't - she didn't mention it until last week! I'm sure it will again hopefully ... I was going to get her the Barbie remote control car too - she is a Barbie girl!!!

There are a couple of DS games I want to get them and maybe a Wii game (but they don't play the Wii very often) ... I'll have to look.

I got some of those spoodles (??) - little girlie backugons! Would like to find some Squinkies and they were talking about those Lollapolooza dolls the other day - although I was goign to get my 4 yr old niece one of those - seems more the age??

I need to get a day and just go and get soem shopping done. Finding the time is the trick!!!

My dd is 5 and the main thing she wants is a Leapster and it HAS to be the pink one. She also wants an artist's easel as she is really into drawing and painting. She wants other things too but those are her 2 "big" items.

My ds is 2 and he wants Rex and Hamm stuffed animals from Toy Story. He also wants Bullseye. He wants a football and books, etc. But the most expensive thing he wants is the Moonwalking Mickey Mouse. I can't think of what it is called but I've already got it for him as his "big" gift this year.
