So what seems to be the hot items this year? How old are your kids and what are they asking for?

My daughter is 8 and she wants an ipod and more Calico Critters stuff.
My son is 4 and he wants bakugans and dinosaurs.

My daughter is 13 and wants a French Horn. But that's a recurring theme, and I think at this point we've worked something out regarding that.

I don't think my son, who is 10, has asked for anything yet.

We never get lists from our kids so I have to keep an ear and eye out for things they look at or talk about. DD15 and DS15 have been sharing some Ipod speakers for a few years and now they both seem to want them more so DS15 is getting some from Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas. He is our hardest kid to buy for so I am excited to have a good idea for him this early. He will probably also get a letter jacket.

I have NO ideas for DD15 and DS18 yet.

My dd (almost 13) is asking for UGGs, an e-reader and make-up.
My 2 dses (7 &10) hasven't asked for anything yet but I know they will ask for video games and Legos.

My DS, 15, has turned into a Preppy. He wants more Polo and Lacoste shirts, pink, kelly green and yellow pants and pants with Polo players embroidered on them. Last summer he said these things were stupid, and only Aeropostale had cool clothes. Now he's at a prep school with other preppies and he's turned into one. Oh, and his DGM is buying him saddle shoes for Christmas. I have to find my old "Official Preppy Handbook" that should be in the attic for him and then I may buy him the updated version of that called "True Prep."

DD, 14, wants a Nook.

My daughter (9) wants a Kindle. That's all she's asked for.

My son (4) has asked for legos. I am not sure what else to get him.

DD12 wants a laptop, the Big Top Cupcake, cookie and donut pans (she's a kitchen gadget girl).

DD10 wants a .22 rifle to go hunting and target shooting with Daddy, so far that's the only thing she has told me.

My DD12 says she only wants 3 things: a laptop, invisiline braces (instead of regular braces) and a northface. Of course she then also thought of an ipad and uggs.

The other 2 haven't said much yet, but I'm sure DS8 will. He has mentioned a phone and a laptop (not happening)!

DS10 wants duct tape. He loves to build stuff out of duct tape. If he had his way, he'd go through a roll of it a week. He also wants broken VCR's, TV's etc... He enjoys taking them apart. I'm having a tough time figuring what to get him - I can't just wrap up a sleave of duct tape and a broken TV <sigh> I'll be anxiously watching your thread to see if any suggestions sound up his alley.

One boy (11) wants a 164g Ipod Classic.

Other boy (11) wants an Adrian Peterson autograph.

They are also getting Phiten Tornados and some books they just don't know it.

Twin nephews not my kids, don't know what they asked for from mom and dad.

My son wants (he is 13 - will be 14 in December) :

Multi-Effects pedal for his electric guitar
Rock Band 3
Super Scribblenauts
Scott Pilgrim VS The World DVD
Diary of a Wimpy Kid book (the new one coming out)
Ipod Touch
Green Day Guitar Books

He is not getting an Ipod Touch. He has an MP3 player he never uses, and uses a portable CD player daily. He is getting a laptop (he has expressed how much he DOES NOT want one, but to me it is something he needs much more than an Ipod Touch).

12 and 14... and even though they love Christmas, my kids never seem to ask for anything. I ask them and they go, "I dunno..." They're weird like that. ;)

Well, okay, my son would really like an IPad, but he'd not getting one! :lmao:

How safe is he? If he really likes working on electronics he probably needs a soldering set and some watchmakers tools.

just turned 8 year old son wants a phone(yeah right that's not happening)but also legos, a couple video games, and an rc item that he saw.

5 year old wants same lego, video, Trio stuff, ToyStory stuff and an RC Star wars thing he saw.

13 year old dd wants a camera(although she doesn't remember that she mentioned that to me so she keeps saying there's nothing that she wants- so I hope it'll be a surprise) And probably makeup and girly stuff.

16 year old son wants camera equiptment a couple video games and some various electronics.

DS16 has asked for a dirt bike for probably 3 years and will continue to ask for that because that is wayyyy too much money to spend.:lmao:

He's getting a like new laptop. My husband works for a leasing company that in early Sept repo'd 150 almost new laptops. Wiped them and then sold them to employees for 150.00 first come first serve. We got 2, one for me, as I need one to work from home if need be...and he's getting one for Christmas.

He's also getting a school sweatshirt, and maybe a sports magazine subscription.

DS11 wants an electric guitar and amp. So that is what he is getting.:scared1: Anyone want an 11 year old boy with an electric guitar to come live with them? :lmao:

He's also getting some fishing lures, a sweatshirt with our school logo, and a new book to read (Diary of a Whimpy Kid)

DD9 has mentioned a few things here and there but not really anything for her "big" gift. I more than likely will not get her one "big" thing...but a few smaller items.

She is very into drawing and art things so I am thinking like maybe a sketch pad and one of the nicer kits of colored pencils, watercolors, paints.
Other than that, she is typically easy so I wait until closer to Christmas to finalize her shopping because she changes so often between now and then.
I may also get her a camera (not super expensive) for her to take pics on and videos since she loves to mess with my camera.

Nothing so far, because I splurged and bought them Super Mario 2 and Kirby's Yarn (or something like that) last weekend. Ridiculous, I know, since I had to charge them, but I graduate this June and I can almost smell the sweet scent of a life living off more money than scholarships and student loans.

Seriously, though, I usually buy one $20 to $50 gift per child, so we're talking a new book or g.c. to the mall or something. I will probably buy Sid Meyer's Civilization 5 as a family gift (they have been telling me about it for the past 6 months). We'll all argue over who gets to play it first.

DD wants an ipad :rotfl2:

She is getting a Nintendo DSX and a really cool electric razor motorbike that I found at Brookstone on clearance

I wish you lived near me, I have a broken t.v. and a broken VCR in my garage that I could give you!
