We had homegrown corn on the cob tonight, aw, yeah!:cool1: Nothing like it on earth! Sweet yellow and white kernels popping right off the cob- yum!!

Homegrown tomatoes aren't quite ready yet around here, but that's another summer delicacy that I am dying for. Along with eating slices, I like to cut wedges of them and toss with feta, green onion, and parsley for a simple salad. SO good.

Veggie pizza on the grill.

Strawberry shortcake.

Zucchini, sauteed.

And frosty, fruity fun drinks!

How about you?

Oh, corn on the cob FOR SURE!!!! DD begs for it year-round, and she is SO HAPPY when it's corn season.

Getting to go strawberry-picking. Gotta go every June. Yummm..... and it's just not the same if you're not out in the hot sun with that syrupy sweet strawberry smell all around you, eating a warm berry you just pulled off the bush.

Fresh peas in the pod- I ask DD to shell them for dinner and half get eaten before they get into the pot.

Wild blueberries. So good and so tiny! Again, we have to stop our daughter from gorging herself on these when they show up in our local market.

Oh, and this is an import for us, but aren't they good! Plumcots (or pluots). The season is SO short - they're only available for about 3 weeks up here, and I buy as much as DD & DH will eat.

..... Now I'm starving.

Watermelon. I love me some sweet cold watermelon. Any melon makes me happy though.

Corn on the cob is amazing. Living in Ohio we get plenty of it too. We have a lot of little green tomatoes on our vines so we should be in 'mater heaven soon. :cool1:

Corn on the cob and tomatoes top the list, but I also enjoy asparagus and watermelon too! They just aren't the same when you buy them out of season.

I love grilling all of our meals outside too!

We get the frozen asparagus from Schwan's and it is amazing year round--better then fresh--really!

Summer fruits-strawberries, peaches, plums, etc. also need to be added to the list.

Watermelon! I developed cravings for it when I was pregnant with my son. Back then I would look at those giant whole melons in the store, and think, 'Yeah I could eat that whole thing!' I still love it. It's a food and a drink in one.

Corn on the cob is up there on the list too!!!

all of the above!!

and our local strawberries!

we've been having high temps here, so we have been eating tons of fresh veggies and fruit so we don't have to cook anything!!!!!:) Tonight I am making a huge fruit salad.

:wizard:

Watermelon .. If my parents would let me I would eat the entire melon. I would really have to pee, though..

I'm with you. I love pretty much all melons. But watermelon is my fave. It's just about time for Indiana melons, too. They're usually jucier and sweeter than others I've tried.

Cherry tomatoes, sugar snap peas, bbq grilled pineapple, parmesan caesar burgers, fruit salad, blueberry graham pie, s'mores....

Mmmm I am so hungry now. Gotta figure out what to cook for dinner...:yay:

Fresh tomatoes with fresh basil from my yard and a bit of mozzarella:goodvibes

A Mojito with fresh mint from my yard;)

In a few weeks, fresh figs:cloud9:

Rita's

Corn on the cob...ours is still a week or two away.

Wild Maine blueberries

Heirloom tomatoes...big fat brandywines and striped zebras. Drizzled with olive oil and some fresh chopped basil, salt and cracked pepper, it's the best summer salad in the world. I am really hoping for good tomatoes this year, last year they were terrible.

Cold fried chicken, potato salad, and sliced tomatoes with a bottle of chilled dry rose

OK now I am hungry!

Grilled chicken for dinner, and fresh berries for dessert.
