What are your Disneyland Traditions?

We always get fudge for home -- 1) for the neighbors who feed the cat, 1) for grandma and 2) for us -- one with & one without nuts!

We always got ice cream until they discontinued Fantasia! :scared1: DH still insists we boycott until they bring it back! Last summer we mixed our own -- had to buy ice cream from 2 grocery stores & ColdStone to get the right flavors...made Grandma happy though!

My DH and I always to a Disney Dance as we approach the gates. I do something with my arms that resembles MM ears. I'm sure everyone is staring at us but we don't care!:cheer2:

Also, I MUST buy a treat at Pooh's Candy Corner immediately following the Pooh ride.

We always enter on the right hand side under the train station.

And we always say good night to Walt in the firehouse before we leave for the night. And if we're leaving for the trip we saw goodbye and thank you... Geeky, I know!

Not geeky at all... I always look up at the light and say good morning and good night.

Oh - and I must tell you--I LOVE the photo of you guys by the "And they lived happily ever after"... that's on my list of things to do next time I go with DH :) Thanks!!

A tradition that my hubby, my son and I started with our last trip is to go to Mareceline's in DD to get a chocolate covered treat... every day. :woohoo:

We always start our trip off at DCA. We checkin, head over there to get corndogs for dinner, a few rides and usually see the parade and then head back early to rest up for the first full day. The kids know the routine, they don't even need to ask!

Other than that we don't do anything in any particular order. I must always get a mickey rice krispie treat at least once per trip.

We also visit Whitewater Snacks every trip and try to see or do several new things we've never done before.

May I ask where that sign is? My DH and I have a storybook romance. I would love a pic there too. :lovestruc

How did you make the fantasia???????? That was the best I miss it so much!

We always go to Pirates first (after entering on the right side under the aforementioned sign).
We always get ice creams (waffle cone for DH and Mickey ears for the rest of us), stake out a spot early, munch ice cream and people watch while we wait for the parade.
The last night at the parks we always stand together, arms around one another, and watch the fireworks. On our way out of the park that last day I whisper "See you real soon" and shed a few tears.

What a great memory of disney magic!! We have that on a plaque in our room--so that pic would be perfect for us to have as well :)

I am pretty sure that it's on the way out of the Animation building in DCA. There are fun patterns on the floor and one way is the door out, the other direction is the obligatory exit through the store :)

*** I want to know the 'recipe' for Fantasia ice cream as well--was thinking of using our ice cream maker to make some for a family gathering this summer :)

Thank you so much. I didn't get to explore that much of DCA the last time I was there. I will be this time.

DD and I always make a wish at the well. I have even got DBF and his kids into this as well.

Wasnt it black cherry, bananna and pistachio ice creams?

Our traditions are:

Picture taking in front of the floral arrangement
Walk through on right side
Everyone in the family congregates right in front of the train depot and we spend 30 minutes looking for my brother
Picture taking with the castle in the background
Peter Pan's Flight, everyday
Chocolate dipped banana
Soaring

New traditions will be made with the babies and other's will be lost. My brother is too ill to join us on our upcoming trip in late August, he's basically confined to bed at this point.

The babies (how are now 4 and almost 4) have been going to DL or WDW since babies;my daughter took her first steps in WDW in the Winnie the Pooh park. That year we bought them each a Winnie the Pooh outfit. The next year, the outfits still fit and both kids again got their pictures taken in them. I have my daughter's outfit saved and have flirted with the idea of bringing it with us and having her picture taken it but I know it won't fit and she'll just have a fit over wearing it. It is a 2 piece, I looked at just the other day and marveled at how much she's grown over the past year.

I can't wait for our trip!

- walk through the right tunnel
- take a picture of the sign over the tunnel
- eat at taste pilot's grill at least once
- have a waffle cone sometime between lunch and dinner, and do some people watching
- take a picture of the partners statue
- do a round trip on the RR on my last night
- take a picture of the Mickey floral before I leave on my last night
- have a couple Dole Whips and do some people watching
- make Pirates my last ride on my last day

This is how we made our own Fantasia ice cream:

1) bought pistachio from Safeway/Vons -- they were the only ones that had non-funkified pistachio -- you know with chocolate in it or something.
2) bought strawberry/banana ice cream from Wal-mart -- had Dora on the package and we seperated the strawberry from the banana :headache:
3) bought cherry from Coldstone -- again they were the only ones we could find with non-funkified cherry.

Softened everything a little, mixed up & then froze again. Mind you, I can't stand pistachio, banana or cherry ice cream -- putting them all together didn't improve them at all for me. However, DH & DMIL love Fantasia. Right after they discontinued it, we stopped on main street to get ice cream, per tradition. DMIL and I parked stroller w/ DS at a table while DH stood in the ice cream line. When he got there & found out that Fantasia was forever discontinued, had a fit -- nicely, but a fit. Made them get the manager & apologize to his mom, etc. Then the two of them whined about the lack of Fantasia ice cream every time we went to DL for years since then & sometimes on random days....so, making Fantasia was well worth getting the whining to stop! The only downside is that we'll have DMIL for most of the summer again & I'm going to have to procure the ingredients again or figure out how to make them. :rolleyes1

I get a new magnet from every trip, it has to have the year on it.

I guess it's tradition that we always have to eat at Hungry Bear, Riverbelle, and Rancho.
