What are your Disney pet peeves?

This is very petty, but since you asked...I do not like it when CM's call me "friend". I do not know them, they do not know me, and I am not their friend. Maybe we could be friends, but at the moment, we are not. I'd rather be greeted by just plain old "Hello", not "Hello Friend". And some of the things others mentioned bug me, too. Again, it's something small and not going to affect my day, but I would prefer not to be called friend (at least the non stop "Princess" phase seems to have ended).

Love this one -- now we're talking!

In that same vein, I hate "Welcome Home!" -- it is quite literally not my home.

Related to the differences between booking experiences (midnight?), Lightning Lanes (7am, app only?), Dining (6am, app or website), I find it extra aggravating that the windows aren't consistently applied too.

Just had to learn the hard way that with a contiguous split stay, you have to wait for your second check-in date to book the rest of your dining reservations, but apparently the LL system will allow you to book LLs for the entirety of your split stay. WHY ARE THEY DIFFERENT?
Dining window is tied to hotel reservation, LL window is tied to ticketing AND the hotel type and a split stay both aren't counted.

but I 100% agree they should be.

Wow, people are even "peeving" on the friendly Disney cast members that often make our trip so special! I love when they say 'Welcome Home' and 'Friend' - I know I'm at Disney!! Welcome Home is a long-time DVC thing that we love. And someone calling me friend? Well, there are a million and 1 worse things I could be called! I guess there can be a negative side to most anything!

Yep.

Have you been to Aulani yet? Booking stuff there is even more confusing if you can believe that.

I always have taken it as them some what calling you a bad name. :rotfl2: Like when I ask my husband to do something and he says "sure thing" which actually means "are you (explicit word) kidding me I dont want to do that right now"

I will add I have never been offended by a cast member saying this to me just think it's funny to think what they probably want to say to many people.

I agree, there are a lot worse things to be called and I'm not offended. It's not being negative, it was asked what our biggest pet peeves are and we replied. Why be judgmental? Pet peeves are personal, what bugs me may be fine to you and what irritates you I may not even notice. And it's not always said to be friendly, I've heard it directed at guests in a quite snarky way, as @VGCgroupie says!

The big one would have to be the removal of EE at DLR.
I also loathe the lightning lane system and the need to be on your phone if you want to utilize it. RIP free paper fast passes.
What also comes to mind is the moving of Mickey's Halloween Party to DCA renaming it Oogie Boogie Bash and how it is now impossible to get tickets because they have created a niche thing lol

I have heard from my DISer friends who have gone that they love it and really enjoy it more than MNSSHP especially the characters (which DLR does do better than WDW on that) but if you can't get tickets for it sorta makes that a moot point

Grievance Peevance #132

There should be priority ADR booking for guests of that resort!

People staying at Riviera should have first dibs on Topolino’s during their trip, etc etc etc

I'm glad they are outside the parks these days but a normal walking path kinda bites to have one there.

And it's not just one area that you have to walk through them. People will smoke all over that walking path so it's just one area that you have to walk past them. It drives us nuts. At least wait and go to the designated area. Make friends with other smokers.

Pet Peeve #2: They also throw their cigarette butts on the ground instead of the trash, even if they are right next to said trash

Pet Peeve #3: People who vape in public but act all "James Bond" like no one can see what they are doing.

Hmm, I clearly have smoke angst. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We have, but I don't recall it being all that crazy. To be fair really the only important things we booked were Auntie's Beach House and a character breakfast one morning. Everything else we either just winged it or did things offsite.

Like someone else said, pet peeves are personal. I find "Welcome Home" to be insanely corny and downright stupid at times. Sure, if you want to have it on the TV as I'm walking into my room that's fine, and I'll just roll my eyes. But having it be the first thing on the pre-recording or what each CM says every time I call Member Services (when I'm not even on vacation) is just annoying. It might give some people the warm and fuzzies, but it gives me the cold and pricklies.
