What are your 6 year old daughters getting for Christmas?

I am at a loss. DD6 wants it all but I refuse to buy something that will get played with for that week and then it just sits there.

Last year my DD6 wanted the Barbie Diamond Castle for Christmas. It was expensive, and took a while to find it, but it was well worth it. She plays with it several times a week. She also loves her Polly Pockets, Littlest Pet Shop, and My Little Pony playsets.

This year I am thinking of a couple new Nintendo DS games, a Barbie, and a scooter.

My DD is 7, is that close enough? I think she is toyed out actually. Last year she got the Barbie Dream House and loves it and plays with it a lot!
She plays with ALL her toys regularly but just doens't need anything else.

I know she wants a desk, we found a perfect sized one at Office Depot during back to school time, so that is definate.
She wants Toy Story Mania for Wii
a scooter
some clothes and girly things.
American Girl Doll Felicity since she was born in Virginia

We just went to Florida for a girls only trip so I will put together a photo album for her.
Since we just had our trip, I think it will be a light Christmas and she'll be plenty happy. Honestly I don't even know what the hot toys are right now, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough!

Other than that, I think if kids are toyed out, great ideas are gifts of experiences like going to get nails/hair done (we have a Sweet and Sassy just for girls), a trip to a play or ballet, concert, dinner out with just that child, Disney on Ice, a special shopping trip, etc. My kids really like the 'experience' gifts now.

It did have a bed, table and chairs, and a few other pieces. I found mine at Wal-Mart, and it included the Barbie and a sparkly dog, too.

Another thing my DD uses constantly is her Disney Princess vanity. She got it from Santa several years ago, but still loves it. She keeps her hair stuff and make-up, jewelry, etc there, and loves to sit at it and get dressed up. Last Christmas, Santa brought her some real perfume and glittery body lotion (a Love's Baby Soft gift set) in her stocking, and she thought she was grown up stuff! Her make-up is the kids stuff from Wal-Mart.

What a good idea about gifts of experiences. Never thought of that one. I can not say my daughter has an over abundance amount of toys, she just doesn't play with them a lot. DD6 and DS3 play a lot together. They like to play with all the blankets and make forts, and really whatever DS3 wants to play(trucks,trains,dinosaurs) that's what she plays. But when we are in the stores or she sees the commercials for toys she says I want that.

DD does like the makeup that you can get at Target for $1 and all the lip smackers stuff. That is good stocking stuffers for sure. Although she does have a lot of it.

My DD has the Ariel vanity and loves, loves it! I LOVE Love's Baby Soft! I used to use it as a kid! Do you mind me asking where you can find it? It would be a perfect stocking stuffer! My DDs used to like the American Girl scents from Bath and Body Works, but they don't make it anymore. She would love Love's Baby Soft! Thanks!

DD saw this at Costco (much cheaper though) and she's mentioned it every day since. I know she'd play with it, but it's large and I'm not sure we have the room for it right now.

She still really likes Littlest Pet Shop and My Little Pony ponyville toys, anything to do with 'crafts' (beading, sculpture, drawing etc), her Disney Princess barbie type dolls & their princes and read-along-books. I'd really like to do more 'experience' type things, but have to research more what's available in this area since we just moved here. Last year was easy, but this year

You can research together and then go out...to a kid's indoor play place, skating rink, museum, ice cream shop...whatever she can think of! LOL kids are funny, she might pick McDonalds....and then you got off cheap!

My mom is all about the experiences...starting when we were young, we did not have a lot of money, but I would get a certain amount (say, $50-100) and it could be put toward presents or a party. I was always allowed to have a few friends spend the night, but with the money...we could do fun craft projects, buy lots of junk food, etc! I always chose the party, and remember them to this day! Sooo fun! Also, for the last few Christmases....we did "experiences"...my mom payed for a hotel in NYC for the night, I payed for an off-Broadway show...I pay for hotel, she got me a Seasonal Disney pass for Birthday/Christmas last year...and we are using them to go to the Food and Wine Festival next weekend! It has allowed us to be creative and use the money for "stuff" and put it toward things we would otherwise not be able to do.

LOL sorry it's so long! Experiences make memories, hope you think of something! Also..can I suggest maybe a class/activity? Not just soccer or ballet, but really look in the area...kids pottery class, acting, singing, photography, cake decorating (we have a class for kids in the area), etc?

DD5 is getting a full-size Lands End Bean Bag Chair (the Junior size has lasted well for 3 years but DS8 is outgrowing his, so they'll both be getting one size bigger), a make your own sock puppet kit, an Easy Bake Oven with a few mixes, a book, a new hop ball, and lots of stocking stuffers.
