What are you reading?

I have just finished reading Animal Farm.....which at the end, it gets pretty disturbing. to me, at least. eeegh. lol!! :lmao:

I'm now working on all the Ellen Hopkins books, they're pretty good, even though they're all in poem form.

Um, and I'm also reading Devil Bones by Kathy Reichs, the something or other of the show Bones.

And I'm also trying to read Interview With A Vampire by Anne Rice, which is pretty good too.

I read Animal Farm, last yer and trust me! you are not the only one who thinks it's disturbing!

I am currenlty reading My Enemies Cradle by Sara Young... it's really good! this is like the 5th time I have checked it out of the library! (yes I am addicted!) :rolleyes1

I'm reading A Long Way Gone. It's summer reading for Honors Social Studies...
I can't really get into it but I need to finish, I'm like 20 pages in. Don't remember who wrote it off the top of my head though.
Before that, I read The Secret Life Of Bees, another summer reading book. hah. I actually really enjoyed it though.

i love animal farm! do you understand the satire? maybe that will make it a little less disturbing. also, if you liked it, read 1984. its by the same author, but easier to understand.

interview with a vampire is my favorite anne rice book. the series kinda goes down hill after vampire lestat in my opinion.

Yeah I am reading a bunch of the classics and this was on my list. I'm about 100 or so pages into it (before I stopped for Time Traveler's Wife) and it's not an easy read but I like it so far. I hope to start it up again after the I finish the book I'm reading.

I loved that book, and she wrote another book I really enjoyed too it was called The Almost Moon. I read The Lovely Bones and really loved it, so when I saw she wrote this one I had to get it.

Aw Winnie the Pooh! That's awesome. Did you like The Time Traveler's Wife Jenny?

I love all things Jodi Picoult! Have you read anything else by her?

Wow this post shows how much of a book nerd I am!

she also wrote Lucky. its an autobiography. pretty much in the same vein as lovely bones though. it was okay, not as good as lovely bones.

Yeah I saw that one too, I heard it was sort of auto-biographical of an event that happened to the author. I heard it wasn't as good but I might want to read it at some point.

I'm reading The Summer of Cotton Candy by Debbie Viguie. It's about a sixteen year old girl named Candace who has to put aside her social life one summer to work at a cotton candy booth at a theme park. And of course she meets a guy while working there ........

Just my summer reading books right now, which I think are bad reads. But they are The Plague, How to Read Literature Like a Professor, and Beloved.

I just finished reading Bells on their toes... and a Tree that grows in Brooklyn (I literally cried reading it and was really disturbed with the mom's decision at the end)
I read a few other ones, I can't think of right now :]

I had to read Beloved for my 12th grade AP lit class. I actually really liked it :)
Good luck!

Crazy Love by Francis Chan

And for school I'm reading The Scarlett Letter

I HATED The Scarlett Letter. It's the only book I've never finished for an English class.

Right now, I'm working through Great Expectations by Dickens and then I've got three or four other Dickens books to get through (I read books by the order they're on my bookshelf...and my shelf is alphabetized...)

I've read Great Expectations. I actually really liked it.

I'm reading The Catcher in the Rye (re-reading it, actually), Animal Farm (another re-read), Discovering Popular Culture (for english class), and I'm going to read Looking for Alaska whenever I get around to it.

Currently;

Beowulf - Anonymous.
Grendel - John Gardner.
The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger. <3333333 this one!

Looking for Alaska is so good.

Little Brother - Cory Doctorow
Hamlet-Shakespeare
The Princess Bride - William Goldman

Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot and I am listening to the audio book of Being Nikki by Meg Cabot. :)

I am reading The curious incident of the dog at night time for school. Its actually one of the better school books I have read.

Tricks by Ellen Hopkins. J'aime her books!

I recently read Nineteen Minutes and Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult. So chilling.
