What Are You Reading Right Now?

I just finished "the Horse Boy"; it was an amazing book, particularly for those of us who live with autism.

Author, please?

Does anyone else read this thread and write down the titles to look for in the library? I've been doing this now for over 3 years, and I have 2 notebooks full of titles. I'm slowly making my way through the list. I've been so pleasantly surprised by the books my fellow DIS'ers are reading! Some of them I would never have checked out without your recommendations. I just hope this thread will never die out!

I am reading Kitty and The Midnight Hour. So far so good.:thumbsup2

I am reading Midnight Never Come, by Marie Brennan. It was a free download, it is okay. Want to read the next Stephanie Plum book, but the reviews seem so mixed, maybel I will wait.

Just finished "The Year of Magical Thinking." I really did not enjoy this book. I kept reading, hoping it would get better, but no such luck!

Now, I'm on to "A Prayer for Owen Meany." So far, I'm really enjoying this book. I'm only on page 39, but the story intrigues me, so far!

I've also worked my way through 3 Youth books that were recommended for my 9 year old son. "The Lightning Thief," "Sea of Monsters," and "The Titan's Curse." I really enjoyed these books, and hope that my son will decide to start reading them.

I'm finishing up Salvation in Death by J. D. Robb and just about to start Out of the Flames by Lawrence and Nancy Goldstone.

I'm reading Harry, A History, by Melissa Anelli. I think it's great, espcially since I listen to Pottercast too.

This one is waiting for me at the library! Actually, my daughter requested it, but I think I need to read it first!

I just started Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, by Jamie Ford. I really want to get started on Sarah's Quilt, the sequel to These is My Words, but have to finish Hotel first because it is our book club pick for this month.

Finished Dead and Gone, along with another one in a vampire series I read, now I'm working my way through Santa Clawed a Mrs Murphy mystery by Rita Mae Brown and her cat Sneaky Pie Brown. THen back to my Kindle downloads when these go back to the library.

What did you think of that book? I read that one recently. I read another by her too, Promises in Death.

I am currently reading These is My Words, which I picked up after it was recommended on a different book thread here on the DIS. I am loving it! It is written as the journal of a young pioneer woman in the late 1800s. This doesn't normally sound like something I would read, but the stories she tells are so interesting that I am already planning on reading the next book as soon as I am done.

I was one of the people that highly recommended it...I loved that book. Did someone say there is a sequel?

I'm currently reading "My Best Friend's Girl" by Dorothy Koomson, which is a light book compared to the Jodi Picoult book that I just finished - "Handle With Care"

loaded up my Kindle the other day in anticipation on our beach trip this weekend. Right now I'm reading a stack of magazines that are piled up, then back to a Heather Graham that I loaded last night.

Sarah's Quilt is the next book, which begins in 1906. I am only a couple of pages into the book so I can't really comment on it, but I'm hoping it was as good as These is My Words!

I picked up The Host at the library tonight. It will be my second attempt to read it. This time I'll persevere because it is the book club selection this month at the library. Since I'm out of work again, I can read and participate in this book club that meets once a month on Wednesday at 10:00.
