I almost took that one off my shelf instead of the one I chose (The Space Between Us). I'm looking forward to reading Still Alice, but I'm sure I will feel the same way you did about the book.I just finished "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova. It's about a woman with early-onset Alzheimer, told from her point of view. I found it to be haunting and heartbreaking.
i skimmed thru this thread....has anyone read Stephanie Meyers The Host yet? Just finished it and I am sooo not a science fiction reader but I LOVED it!

My advice to you is to catch up on your sleep BEFORE you start the Twilight series... and make some heat and eat meals in advance so you won't have to cook while you're reading them. They, IMHO, are even more of an addiction than Jodi's books. This thread got me into reading Jodi Picoult- who was not even on my radar. I don't know whether to say thank you or curse you for the sleepless nights I have had since I could not put the book down once I started (Second Glance, My Sister's Keeper, The Pact, 19 Minutes). Now I am reading 10th Circle and it is pretty good, but has not hooked me in as much (I can actually put it down and go to bed).
I also have given into temptation and have the Twilight books waiting form me to pay attention to them.
I have not read Second Glance, but the other 3 that you mentioned were some of her best, IMO. Tenth Circle was OK for me - not anywhere near as good as the others though. This thread got me into reading Jodi Picoult- who was not even on my radar. I just finished Run for Your Life by James Patterson. Meh... it was alright. Michael Bennet, IMO, is a weak reproduction of Alex Cross.
I'm going to start Revelations, A Blue Bloods Novel by Melissa De La Cruz. I can't wait to see what's going on with Schuyler Van Allen in this book!

So many people raved about it, but I just could not get in to it. I read well over 200 pages & then put it back on my shelf. I told myself I didn't officially give up on it & may go back to it again.
Totally OT, but I just realized that we live in the same area. I am in WNY also - Lancaster. It's okay, it is one of those books I picked up because I didn't have anything else to read, and would drop it if I found something else.
