I've got Patterson's new book, "Run for Your Life" to start tomorrow. That's my weekend plan... to do nothing but read that.

Any ideas for a series along the same lines as Sookie Stackhouse? Also curious about the Bones novels, anything like the show?

Just finished Confessions of a shopaholic thought it was great. I am going to start Secret Life of Bees tonight.

I have heard good things about Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake vampire hunter series, though I haven't personally read them yet.

Charlie Huston has written a series about a vampire private investigator named Joe Pitt which is supposed to be very good. Those I would like to read next if they go on sale!

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire, the author of Wicked.

I tried the Laurell K Hamilton ones, couldn't really commit to them even though I bought several (story of my life) :lmao: :rotfl: I read my last available Aurora Teagarden yesterday in three hours (library book), they don't have access to the latest one, so I'll start the other series. Also finished "the Widow" by Carla Neggers (found it by accident after listening to the book channel on XM, thought this was a book I had been listening to, :lmao: wrong, but still pretty good, even if it was actually printed as a Harlequin (!). Now I'm on one by Andrew Gross (co wrote severaly with James Patterson ,including my all time favorite Patterson book, The Jester). I picked this one up off the rack in Wal Mart, it's called The Dark Tide, pretty suspenseful.

Just finished all the Harry Potter books. I had read the first 6, but not the last, so I reread the first 6 and the last one. SO worth it! In between books right now, though I am casually scanning a biography of Houdini.:wizard:

I like Kathy Reich's books much more than the show. They are more serious, less goofy. I found the show a disappointment after reading the books for years.

I'm reading the Watchmen. So far it's quite good, not at all what I expected. This is the first graphic novel I've read.

If there is a book out for a movie I'm going to see I always try to read the book first since 9 times out of 10 the book is better. But I have very high hopes for this movie, especially in IMAX.

Finished up the first 2 Aurora Teagarden books by Charlaine Harris last night. They were okay, super quick reads though.

I think I will continue my Jane Austen kick by reading Sense and Sensibility.

Umm...The Chronicles of Narnia, Brisingr, and Twilight...all have been started, none have been finished...LOL

Right now I'm reading Definately Dead by Charlaine Harris - the 6th book in the Sookie Sookhouse Southern Vampire Series. I do like these alot, but boy does this chick always find herself in troubling situations, lol.

I've tried twice to start The Secret Life of Bees & couldn't commit, I also can't commit to passing it on so I guess I make one more attempt.

Please post what you think!

i have 4 books going right now and I'm driving myself crazy. I tend to "misplace" a book and grab another. I'm reading:

New Moon
Nineteen Minutes
Stiff (about corpses)
The Great Mortality (about the plague)

Well, now I"m plowing through three Harper Connely books (another Charlaine Harris series). FWIW, they are quick reading also.

Just finished Inkheart this morning (won't see the movie without reading the book first). It was interesting.

Started reading Three by Ted Dekker.

I'm still reading, Curtain, by Agatha Christie. It's good. :)

I just got, The Vegetarian 5 Ingredient Gourmet. "It has 250 simple recipes and dozens of healthy menus."

I just finished The Secret Life of Bees yesterday, and I loved it. It's a quick read, so give it a try, it really is a great story. Very heartwarming!
