Just finished Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult. I picked up a Nora Roberts last night at Target for the plane ride tonight. I'll be hitting the used bookstore by my grandfather's tomorrow to stock up on books. love paying 50% off!

Cool! I wish I had a used bookstore somewhere close to me. At half price, who cares if it's been read before?!

and it horrible.

It's a Patricia Cornwell novel, the character is Kay Scarpetta and I am reading the whole series and this is the second time I have been REALLY disappointed in her work.

I hated it. Hopefully her next few novels will be better because I already bought them.

I am also reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at the moment. Dh got me these for Christmas and I am loving them.

I am about to start James Patterson's "Pop Goes the Weasel". It's the next book I have to read in his Alex Cross series and I have liked most of them so far except Jack and Jill...

I need to find another series to read as well...

I'm reading "Sharp Objects" and it's ok. My book club picked it. Next up is "Into the Wild" (which is now a movie) by Jon Krakauer.

I'm reading Kay Hooper's latest, "Blood Dreams"

She is one of my must read authors. Nora Roberts is my top must read. A new J.D. Robb books comes out in a couple weeks. I love that series. I have a few books waiting in the wings as well. I'm starting the James Patterson Women's Murder Club soon. I've never read his books but I love the tv show, so I'm giving him a try.

Bringing Words to Life by Isabel Beck.
The topic is "vocabulary instruction" in the classroom.

I am in a "book club" with seven elem. reading specialists. :teacher:
This is the book chosen for this month.

This reminds me that I've got to read 3 chapters by next Wednesday & it's also my turn to bring the snacks. Gotta get busy!

I'm finally reading "Angela's Ashes." I'm about a quarter of the way through it and frankly, I'm not enjoying the experience. The family is dirt poor, the father comes home drunk and makes them sing patriotic Irish songs, one of his brothers or sisters dies, etc. So they move back to Ireland, where they're even poorer, more kids die, and the father drinks away his paycheck and makes them sing Irish songs.

It's just one damn thing after another. I'm about ready to give up.

Duma Key by Stephen King - so far not impressed but it's a big book so maybe it'll get better.

Also reading a Benjamin Franklin biography with my son.:)

Let me know if it doesn't get better. It's on my "hold" list at the library but hasn't become available yet.

I'm reading Terry Goodkind's Confessor. It is the 11th and FINAL book in a series I started reading more than ten years ago.

I loved that book but it is heart wrenching. DH lived in Northern Ireland for a portion of his childhood and couldn't read more than the first few chapters before it depressed him too much to finish it.

I am reading The Time Travelers Wife.

That was one weird book.
I'm reading Lost and Found by Carolyn Parkhurst, and I'm enjoying it very much. It's about a mother and daughter that go on a reality show, kinda like The Amazing Race.

I just started reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Very good book! I really enjoyed it.

I'm reading The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls, it's a memoir and so far it's entertaining!

I just started True Evil by Greg Iles. First one I read of his was Turning Angel. It was great.

I like Jodi Picoult too. First one I read of hers was My Sisters Keeper and then Plain Truth. I have Vanishing Acts on the book shelf waiting to be read.

I love her!

I am reading Wedding in December by Anita Shreve, then a Jodi Picoult is next:cool1:

How is Wedding in December so far? I have the book but have not read it or heard much about it.

The Other Boleyn Girl.

I just bought that, is it any good?

My first Picoult was also My Sister's Keeper, did you know they are making it into a movie?

"Geek Love" for a Lit class. Interesting, sometimes funny, and slightly disturbing. It is about a carny family who "engineer" their own deformed children for their "freak show". Is really explores what people consider "normal" and turns it on its head!

Minnie_me- Isn't Inkheart great? Can't wait to see the movie! I don't think I ever finished Inkspell, though. I just couldn't get into it. I didn't know there is another one coming out, tho. Maybe I'll give it another try!

Yes I just noticed it on her web site. Not sure how I will like it with them going younger with the 2 girls. I mean how young will Anna be? I would like to see them stick with her going to the attorney alone. I mean Elle Fanning is 10? Will it be believe able that a 10 year old would take this step?

That's how I feel, and I don't know if I can see Cameron Diaz as the mother.

I just finished Water for Elephants. I really enjoyed it!

I almost bought that at WalMart the other night, is it good?? I couldn't get a feel for what it was about.

The Other Bolyn Girl is excellent if you enjoy historical fiction. I loved it and the sequel (Its name left me right now)

I am reading The 5 People you Meet in Heaven. I'm not very far, but it is intriguing.
