I'm past the halfway mark of Strangers by Dean Koontz. I'm enjoying the story but it seems to drag on. The moon, the moon! Come on already and tell me why!!

I read this book years ago. I really enjoyed the book, and how it ... well, I don't want to give anything away. ;) It IS a really long book.

Hated Whispers by Koontz, and another one that has something evil in a cave (hated it). Loved Watchers. It's one of my all-time favorite books. :)

Dead and Gone is the 9th book in the series. The 10th (Dead in the Family)comes out this year. A Touch of Dead is a collection of Sokie short stories. ;)

Warning could be a very stupid question....

I read the 8 book set of the Sookie Stackhouse series - I thought this was all of the "sookie" books... But I went online and saw what appears to be a couple more... Anyone know if these are part of the series?

Dead and Gone
A Touch of Dead

Spartan Gold by CLive Cussler and someone. It's a good read, typical Cussler, but I'm just not into reading right now for some reason, so my Kindle is sitting on the kitchen counter, giving me accusing looks :lmao: ! I think it's jealous because I traded in my Treo for a CrackBerry :rotfl: so it's not the newest technological gizmo in the house anymore, but the BB was replaced tech wise yesterday with a new Samsung WIFI Blu Ray player that receives Pandora radio and Netflix. What is the tech world coming to?????

I didn't get to read much this weekend so I am still near the beginning but I am finding it very S...L...O...W. Maybe it's because of many interruptions, but I am finding it difficult to follow which character is "speaking" as there are several stories within the story. I may go back to the beginning so I can get the plots and characters straight in my mind. I really don't want to bail on this one.
The book picks up after the background is set with Rossi and the main character (whose name I can't remember.) Once they start moving in pursuit of Vlad Tepes, I couldn't put the book down.

Last night, at my book club, we voted to read Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah based on the recommendations received here. One of the ladies had already read it and gushed about it. I also told her that I'd read that On Mystic Lake was very good. She took that one out last night.

Strangers was good but yes, very long and drawn out!

Watchers is also one of my favorites ~ I can (and do) read it over and over!

Yesterday I started reading "Prayers for Sale" by Sandra Dallas. I just finished it. It was wonderful!!! Very heartwarming! It was the perfect book to read to get me out of the January blahs! I give this one 2 thumbs up!!!

Not sure what's up next. I need to see what else I checked out from the library, but the bag is in another room, and I'm all snuggled up on the couch. Maybe after a nap I'll see what's in there.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chebosky for fun.
Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult for fun.
Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt for English class.

Just finished Three to Get Deadly by Janet Evanovich....Stephanie Plum makes me laugh out loud a LOT.

Next, I was thinking the 2nd Sookie Stackhouse book....

Maybe I should read some James Patterson, Cathy Reichs etc that I have on my bookshelf but I got the Sookie books for Christmas and really liked the first one.

This sounds like something I might enjoy. I think I'll add it to my list!

The third book is really what sold me on the series. The grandma is a hoot and if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have read all the rest. Now I'm waiting for the 15th book to show up at my second hand book store.

My favorite of the Stephanie Plum books was number 4. I thought the whole interaction between Sally Sweet, Grandma Mazur, Lula, and Stephanie was just crazy funny.

I just read Angela's Ashes. Great book!

Currently reading Physics for Future Presidents, The Science Behind the Headlines, by Richard Muller. Picked it up browsing at the bookstore. Turns out it is fascinating read. Explains the science the President of the United States needs to understand to effectively run the country.

Whispernet is just awesome! Downloaded and ready to read :cool1:

Thanks! :worship:

Let me know what you think. I loved it!
Will do..........although it may take me a while to actually get it read. I have so many in my "reading cupboard" right now just waiting to get read.

I just started The Help & I'm really enjoying it so far.

I'm the same way!

I just started reading "Little Bee." No real opinion on it either way, at this point.

Next up is "I Know This Much Is True" by Wally Lamb.

I tried Stephanie Plum from the beginning, but didn't care for it (didn't even finish the first book). Should I have started at a later book?

Thanks to this thread my waiting list at the library is growing! I lost the charger to my Kindle so had to go back to real books for the time being. I'm currently reading Angels and Demons but on my list is I, Alex Cross, The Help, The Lost Symbol, Pirate Latitudes, The Leisure Seeker, Dear John, the Sookie Stackhouse series, The Dog (the bounty hunter) Biography (I forget the title) and Under the Dome.
