Just finished Revenge of the Paste Eaters. Now I'm reading The Stand by Stephen King

So I've had NEW MOON for nearly 3 weeks and I just can't finish it. :guilty::sad2: I'm going to move on to ECLIPSE and hope for better. I LOVED the movie, but the book....UGH!

I AM enjoying Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series though! :thumbsup2 I'm currently reading the third one and I have four waiting.

Yes, move on to Eclipse it's much better ;)

The Plum series is just hilarious. I pick one of these up whenever I need a good laugh. I really enjoy the grandma :goodvibes

A similar book is The Scoop by Fern Michaels :thumbsup2

I've just started the Stookhouse books and so far so good :goodvibes

Reading Chances Are by Barbara Bretton. This is my first book by this author. It was a little slow starting, but good now.

Finished the 3rd and 4th Stephanie Plum books in only 2 days. I'm on the 5th one now! I REALLY enjoy them and I ADORE Joe Morelli! (See underneath screenname to the left). :cloud9::love:

Four new books for Christmas.......2 Jennifer Weiner books, The Help & The Shack. Can't wait to dig in (after I finish my current read!) Oh...........and a Borders gift card! :cool1:

I just got Pride and Prejudice and Zombie for Christmas, and am tackling that. I also got Kingdom Keepers 1 and 2. Can't wait to get through all of them!

Don't worry, I am still going to persevere, and I really liked books 1-4, but I just read books 5 and 6 in quick succession and maybe that was too much all at once.

My problem with Definitely Dead (book 6) had more to do with the unpolishedness of it than the demons appearing. There were tons of grammatical errors, and she used the phrase "definitely dead" about a million times.

I read a review where someone was complaining that she is introducing too many new characters and leaving out the old favorites. I agree fully with that, I mean, Bill hardly makes an entrance in book 6 and the new love interest, Quinn, is really flat as a character.

Anyway, that's just MHO. I tend to get tired of a particular style (in this case romantic fluff) after a few books and need a change. In a couple of weeks I'll read book 7 and hopefully her editor will have done a better job.

I just finished it, too. Did you notice how many times she said, "..to the nth degree"? It is such a weird phrase that it kept jumping out at me. Some of the things Sookie says and the way she speaks really bug me sometimes. I think sometimes the books are too light and fluffy, and I take a break and get into something meatier.

I understand. I get the same way with ongoing serial type books. I'm about halfway thru #2 right now. I received The Help and the new Michael Crichton book for Christmas. Excited to get started on them (although they are heavy hardcovers and I tend to go for paperbacks for comfort). :)

I am rereading Breaking Dawn, almost done. Just started The Killing Floor by Lee Child, the first book of the Jack Reacher series.

I am reading Desert Fire a novel about Sudan and Darfur. A very intense novel. And I am going to read Desperation by Stephen King.

I'm finishing Julie & Julia. I want to rent the movie next weekend.

I'm anxious to get the new Sue Grafton (she's up to "U").

Massive True Blood kick after getting all but the most recent 2 in paperback for Christmas!
