The Secret Life of Mrs. Claus by Carly Alexander. Just started it so far so it is good.

I finished Little Ellie Claus by James Manos Jr. It's been sitting on my shelf for nearly ten years! I enjoyed the idea of the story but I didn't love the writing.

So I finished The Things We Do For Love by Kristin Hannah and hated the last 25% of the book; way too sappy for my taste.

Not sure where I'm going next. I have a ton downloaded based on this thread.

SSB didn't love "Matched" ... a bit too much like The Hunger Games but not nearly as good (IMHO). Just finishing "MOJO, How to Get It, How to Keep It, How to Get It Back if You Lose It" for work ... not too bad. Marshall Goldsmith author.

Just finished "Labyrinth" by Kate Mosse. It was very well written! I enjoyed it quite a lot, but it was a bit of a huge undertaking at such a busy time. Good thing I read fast. Up next is "Too Late to Say Goodbye" by Ann Rule. I have about 5 books to pick up from the library tomorrow.

Finished Cast Member Confidential, wasn't what I thought. I don't really recommend it. The author was not very likeable which made it even more annoying to read. Blah.

Think I'm going to read a YA book next, Monster High maybe :)

I agree about The Things We Do for Love.:thumbsup2

Don't know if this has been posted before but they are making a movie out of Hunger Games.

This could be interesting. At least technology is good enough now to make the games believable.

I'm now halfway through Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Easy reading but I've found the story line interesting so far. It's not in the same league as The Witching Hour by Anne Rice but I'm entertained.

I read that in October, it was pretty decent. I have the second one, Beautiful Darkness, but haven't started it yet.

I read Crank the other day, really short read even though the book is huge since its all in poem-ish format. I wasn't impressed, I don't really get the hype.

Right now I am 1/2 way through Monster High by Lisi Harrison, a YA book. It's interesting, I now know where all those "monster high dolls" are coming from that I keep seeing on kids' christmas lists.

Next I think I will read They're Watching, a good creepy book sounds like fun!

I know there is at least one person here who has read or is reading Towers of Midnight. I'm only on page 721, but I'm just amazed at this chapter... "Near Avendesora" (Aviendha in Rhuidean for the second time). I know I've said before how Sanderson writes Jordan better than Jordan ever did, but I think this one chapter is going to end up the single best written chapter in the entirety of the four million word epic. Just mind-blowing. I wonder how much of the content was Jordan's original idea versus Sanderson's vision, but regardless, Sanderson's writing is the key.

I have recently read some YA books - The Summer series by Katherine Applegate and The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate - eh.

I also read - Not Buying It - My Year Without Shopping - don't recommend it

I am going to read Diary of a Wimpy Kid tonight, just watched the movie and I'm curious about the book

I finally finished The Romanov Prophecy. It started out very slowly and the main character is put into so many life and death situations that it is a bit hokey. It picked up at the end and I stayed up past my bedtime on Monday night to finish it.

Yesterday, I started Last Night at the Chateau Marmont. Only one chapter into it and I'm liking it.

I picked up five or six books at the library last week. I am reading the first in the stack, Full Dark, No Stars, Stephen King. I am a huge King fan, but as a rule haven't enjoyed his short stories/novellas as much as his novels. I have to admit, I am enjoying this collection.

I read A Dog's Purpose a few nights ago. A quick read but I couldn't put it down. It was wonderful - a must-read for dog people. :goodvibes

"Side Jobs" by Jim Butcher. Waiting not so patiently for "Ghost Story" to come out this spring.

Just started "Nerds Like it Hot" by Vicki Lewis Thompson. I've never read anything by her, but I couldn't resist the title.

I just read Unlocked: A Love Story by Karen Kingsbury

One. Of. The. Worst. Books. Ever. I couldn't even finish it. It was not what I thought it was going to be and once it started veering so far from reality that I thought I was ready a fantasy book, I quit.
