What are you making for the Superbowl?

Are u kidding--people who aren't Murlanders shouldn't attempt crabcakes ;)
<-------- raised in FRederick, MD

It cracks me up when we go somewhere else and order MD style crabcakes. When we get them, we're like..."what are these?" We had homemade crabcakes on Monday. I used a new recipe and it had way too much breading for my tastes.

OP, if you do want to make crab cakes or crab balls, the receipe on the Old Bay Crab Classic is pretty good.

Crab Dip and buffalo wings (of course)! We're eating before the game though...once the game starts we'll be too focused to bother eating!

PS: Rooting for the hotter Harbaugh!

GO RAVENS!!!

We watch every year, but our town is insane this year with the Ravens playing!!

I know--I'm like, "whats all this filler???"

I'm going to make Buffalo Chicken Dip and maybe a nacho cheese dip, probably do some veggies and dip, maybe some artichoke dip. We aren't having that many people so we are going to make good food, we are talking about Tri Tip and Shrimp. :) We have tons of wine, some beer for those who want it and I need to get sodas for the kids, we will have some kind of dessert as well.
Rooting for the 9ers over here, let's go SF!!!!! :)

If you are cooking, what will you be making?

We are planning to make boneless wings, potato skins, and I'd like to add something a little different - I was thinking maybe carmelized onion and feta tartlets..?

:woohoo:

DD makes those tartlets with goat cheese instead of feta. They are tasty:)

This year, I have to work (tough to get paid to watch the game), so I'll make my chili.

However, next year, will probably have some sort of salmon dish to celebrate the 'Hawks being in the big game again. :cool1:

Same thing here when they make them on a cooking show. I only get "MD style" crabcakes here in MD. :thumbsup2

Going to my sisters house and cooking with my 9yo DN. She wants to make a Raven's colored cake. :rotfl: Haven't completely settled on a menu yet but am thinking chicken wings spicy and mild, some sort of dip, either queso or spinach, and maybe trying bacon wrapped crackers. Would love to do something seafood but DN is allergic to shellfish.

I was thinking of chili and cornbread. Maybe some nachos to to with it and some sort of dessert. Our local bakery does great football cakes.

We are having a taco salad bar, taco roll ups, wings, bacon wrapped shrimp, maybe steamed shrimp, cream cheese brownies, queso dip, buffalo chicken dip. Go Ravens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I'll be over at 6!!! That is my kind of menu!

Heck yeah- our Harbaugh definitely hotter!!! Yeah, we have people coming early, so we can eat first. Always afraid if we eat while the game is going on, food will get thrown!!! LOL

not sure. maybe soup? i have a big week next week so i won't be up too late. i think i might do some brownies or something as well.

We are actually eating kind of fancy-schmancy for Super Bowl this year. One of our best friends who is coming over to watch with us volunteered to bring grass-fed steaks from her mom's cattle ranch. :lovestruc DH will grill them.

To go with the steaks, we are having sauteed mushrooms for those who want them, and a Parmesan-garlic sauce as well. Also baked potatoes with all the toppings, and a green veggie.

For dessert I am making this. :woohoo:

We also have tortilla chips, regular salsa, mango salsa, and spinach-artichoke dip.

Go 49ers!!!

I'll be making tea....

Because it will be morning here. And I'll be at work. :) I'll probably try to catch the halftime show.

I have chips, pretzels and dip-Chex mix(with honey roasted peanuts added, the only way to eat Chex Mix)-pigs in a blanket-honey BBQ wings and buffalo wings-shrimp cocktail-jalapeño cheese stuffed shrimp-cheese and crackers-veggie platter-and a football cake.
Plus whatever my brother and SIL bring over.
