What Are You Looking Forward to on your next trip?

We go early in September. I think for my trips is watching the World through my daughter's eyes. She is going to be 4 in May and has gone every year. She loves it and watching her each time makes it magical all over again.

We are going this September and what I am looking forward to the most is not telling anyone we are going and enjoying the world as a family without the extended family. I know that sounds selfish but, we have family that live in Florida and they all take turns visiting us. This time we are able to do what we want when we want.

Hope you have a magical trip in April.

You are right, too much negativity lately!!! I am looking forward to my DD's first stay at the Polynesian! DH and I stayed there 10 years ago for my 30th birthday. I am also looking forward to using the DDP for the first time. We are so excited to be able to say, WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD NEXT MONTH!!!!!!!!!

OMG Your post just made me realize I can say WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD NEXT MONTH too.:cool1: :thumbsup2  :dance3:

I'm looking forward to a lot of things:

1. Celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday.

2. Strolling through Caribbean Cay and smelling the "banana pancakes" (there is a heavenly tropical aroma at one specific point, and my daughter swears it smells like banana pancakes).

3. And last but not least, I look forward to winning a night in the castle! :rotfl:

We are going in November and are so excited. My DH hasn't been able to go with us because of work for the past three years. He didn't want the kids to miss going, so we went without him for three years. He gets to go this year so the kids are really happy. We get to stay for a longer time too.

Also my mom, step-dad, and brother are coming with us. They are great and it will be fun to be a Grand Gathering. We are doing the Fireworks Cruise.

We will be doing so much first time things even though we have been going for years. EPCOT being the biggest thing since we have never been to it. We can't wait to ride the rides and see the attractions!! Also we are trying the waterparks and Disney Quest. I also want to go to a MVVCP. We have never been to any of the parties.

One special memory from last year was when my DS 9 was picked to help with the AK parade. They let him wear the same shirt as the other CMs. He helped lead games, direct traffic, and got to move the rope so the parade could start. He also got a certificate and the special YOMD pins.

Also it was my twins birthdays last year, and they got picked to be sung to by that acapella quartet at the pre-show at Beauty and the Beast.

You will love Epcot! It's a close second to MK for me and DD says she doesn't feel like she's at Disney World until we are at Epcot!

So looking forward to our very first family trip

1)Seeing their faces as we drive under the Welcome sign
2) RD @ MK on 4th of July and our 1st experience there
3) My kids and their cousins all experienceing it together
4) "STEALING" MY DH away from the FD for 3 whole weeks.
5) Seeing how happy my DD will be turning 11 in WDW
6) Taking DD to Discovery Cove for her Bday

There are actually about a gazillion things I am looking forward to; far too many to list :O)

I am so excited that I can't stand it! This will be the first trip for DH & kids! We will be winging it too! The only ADR is at Chef Mickey's, the kids have no clue! :yay: Should be a blast!!!

We are going in April too!!:cool1: and this is DD7 's first time ever going to WDW!! This will be a Mommy/Daughter trip. We are doing the Pirate Princess party and BBB. We are so excited we can't stand it either! I am so looking forward to watching her joy at just being there and seeing everything.:lovestruc I have also only made one reservation for Akershus for the Princess fairytale dining. I figure we will go wherever she wants to and just wing it just like you!! Maybe our wings will run into eachother!!:lmao:

The next trip is just DS and I so I am really just looking forward to spending the time with him! :cool1:

Specifically though I always look forward to that first step onto Main Street! The sites, sounds, smells! It makes me weepy every time. I usually have to sit down on a bench for a few minutes just to soak it all in and believe that I am really there! :cloud9:

My best memory of last year was the Stars and Motorcars Parade. We hadn't seen it before and I was just so excited seeing it. I am a Star Wars junkie and R2D2 came right over to me and wiggled a bit. I had my birthday pin on so DS said he was wishing me a happy birthday! I am sorry that the parade will no longer be there but thankful that I got to see it at least once!:thumbsup2 It was like I was 6 all over again!

Just looking forward to a "magical" time spent with my kids at our favorite place. My kids are such Disney addicts now it's not even funny. This year we're planning on doing a Hidden Mickey Hunt and see who finds the most. We're also looking forward to seeing all the little princesses in their BBB finest!! That to me is the cutest thing. Also enjoying our new favorite treat - strawberry swirls at the Enchanted Grove. I'd like to also take THE PERFECT shots of the different park icons this year and frame them nicely. I guess for me the best part of the whole thing is just being there - warts and all!!

The thing I look forward to the most about or trips is the time I get to spend with my husband. I love my kids and see them all day as I homeschool. I don't get much time with my husband. The other thing I like is the fact that you an leave all your problems at home and turn into a big kid at WDW.

I've edited the topic of this thread.. to more accurately reflect it's positive theme.. and I'll be moving it over to the Theme Park Community Board!!

Thanks!

Knox

I'm looking forward to being a kid again with my DH. That was the best part of our last trip as well (also my first trip ever) I think it was the only time in my life where I felt completely lost without the outside world disturbing me. I didn't have a care in the world and it was wonderful!

OMG Your post just made me realize I can say WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD NEXT MONTH too.:cool1: :thumbsup2  :dance3:

Our dates overlap too! I'll wave to you at the GF from across the lake at the Poly!

I forgot to share my favorite memory from our last trip.... It was June 2006 and we stayed the the Contemporary. We tried to watch the MK fireworks from the resort's dock but even that was too close for our DD. She has autism. But we discovered we could watch the fireworks from our room in the North Garden Wing (now torn down) and SHE LOVED THEM! We are hoping that the Poly is far enough from the MK that we can enjoy them from the Poly beach this year.

My favorite memory from our last trip (Feb 2008) was going to the Gardenview Tea Room @ the Grand Floridian for afternoon tea with my DH. It was so much fun and very relaxing, not to mention yummy.

I had the Sally Luna Tea Option and with my meal came my choice of tea (I chose Nobo Whole Fruit), sweet yeast bread & scones.

Robert chose the Nobo Whole Fruit tea as well and then he got a British cheese & fruit plate.

Our service was wonderful and the tea room was beautiful with a lovely view of the GF courtyard.

I'm looking forward to sitting back & letting go and letting the Disney Kid in me take over. Just like those Orlando commercials where the parent turns into the kid while enjoying their vacation with their child; see that's me.
With so much Disney magic around us you can't help but let it take over you.

One of my favorite memories from last year's trip was when I rode Splash Mountain with my then 8yr old daughter while hubby waited below with our almost 2yr old. Well, although my daughter had ridden SM before it had been a few years and she couldn't remember a lot of the details; so she kept on asking me over and over again what to expect. "How many drops are there mommy?" "Will I really get wet mommy?" Well, I must admit I pretended not to have the best memory when recalling the details. :confused3 (It's not hard to do now that I'm 30) I think I might have told her there was only two drops and you might get sprinkled on. Well, for those of you who've riden SM know that there's actually 4 drops; some bigger than others but all in all there are four drops. By the second drop my usually sweet and manored child looks over to me and says "You lied mommy! You said only two drops and I've counted two so far and the big one hasn't come up yet" When she uttered that stament we were outside rounding the corner where you can see the actual logs come down the big drop and when it does there a splash of water and we happened to be at the right spot at the right time and SPLASH! We were the only ones in our log to get soaked. My daughter starts to scream cuz she wasn't expecting that (and to tell ya the truth neither was I) and we just laughed and laughed. In fact we were laughing so hard she barely noticed the third drop and when the fourth one came up she said "BRING IT ON!" I almost wished my husband would have been there but I felt like that was something special just for us to have as a memory.

This year she'll be almost 10 and she's sworn to do it Splash Mountain all over again. I can't wait!

I look foward to "stopping and smelling the roses", and excited to be staying for the first time at AKV, we just bought DVC in September, we want to relax more, now we have DVC, we will probably be going once a year, and don't have to be so commando in the parks.:yay: :yay: :yay:

since the last time i was at WDW was 9 whopping years ago as a 14-year-old, i'm looking forward to EVERYTHING! i've been obsessively googling and reading the DIS boards like you wouldn't believe. LOL. but here are some of the things i'm looking forward to the most:

- celebrating my 23rd birthday there!
- riding the classics
- being able to enjoy the rides with my boyfriend, a fellow theme park fanatic
- trying a theme park restaurant for the first time
- fireworks! there's something magical about fireworks in the park
- trying out new rides, especially expedition everest and the rock n' roller coaster!

yayyyyy only 49 more days to go!

DH and I are going at the end of the month (:yay: ) and we're looking forward to staying at the AKV for the 1st time. We're also anticipating trying some new restaurants and walking around some of the resorts. We want to make this a rather low-key trip this time. :)
