What are you getting your TWEEN DD for Christmas?

Confession : I have a DD9 and DD11 and I had to google rainbow looms. I guess I am not "mom of the year" :rotfl2:

Mine is the only girl I know that doesn't have one, but that doesn't stop her from getting her BFF(who is a girly girl- mine is tomboy) to make her them. I swear she has like 20. ;)

DD will be nine right after Christmas and I have no idea what to get her. She's asking Santa for Kit (each year I think this will be her last year believing, but I'm totally ok with keeping the farce up.) I'm thinking about getting her a bed for her doll and the nerf bow from Santa.

My mom is getting her a kindle hd, so we're looking at a cover. She's also very into Harry Potter and Star Wars, so we got her AG a Gryffindor robe since she's dressing as Hermione for Christmas. She thinks the Lego Death Star would be an awesome gift, but for $400, umm nope!

For her birthday, she's asked to spend the weekend at AoA ... which sounds like a lot of fun, but we usually sync Christmas and birthday ... and now I have no idea what to do.

Where did you find a HP robe for AG dolls ??? I, I mean my daughter, must have one!

But Santa can bring anything you ask for...the elves make it, right? :rotfl2: That is the hardest thing to try to get around isn't it?

Kind of like when my daughter asked for a kitten years ago FROM SANTA, because her mom and dad said no. :faint:

I told her "Santa always asks parents for approvals when it comes to pets - sorry". Santa was in the doghouse that year with her. :rotfl2: I had also told her one year Santa couldn't bring fish because they'd freeze from the North Pole to our house.
I'm going to hell for those...I can see the writing on the wall. :crazy2:

I'll join this one too- got a teen and a tween. So far for DD12, I know I want to get a necklace hanger.

I always get her a Christmas ornament based on her likes. I haven't decided about this year's yet- maybe a soccer ball. She is currently very much into Newsies, but Amazon doesn't have an ornament for that!

She got the first set of Warriors books for her birthday, maybe the second set for Christmas?

I got some of the Delia's BOGO clearance, and she will be happiest about the Woody & Jessie tee, and the Union Jack hi-tops (if they fit!)

She would be very happy still to receive Barbies and accessories, Build A Bear stuff, and AG stuff, but she absolutely has quite enough of that!

She would be happy to get Miss Me jeans (I buy them secondhand), not sure if I will get another pair at this point.

We just redid her room, and she could still use a rug in front of her bed- she wants white tiger print, so I need to look for that.

Somebody asked about game or puzzle ideas- DD's favorite game right now is Bananagrams.

Oh, last year she wanted and didn't get the Beauty Shop Pal- it's a hair styling mannequin with real hair. She got a cheapy Bratz one from her grandparents which has already been thrown out because the hair got bad fast. She is not sure she wants to be a beautician anymore, so I don't know if I'll get anything. I do have an acquaintance in the beauty school business who was going to check on price for one through him last year but I didn't hear back.

I need to know too!!

I also need to know this!

DD turns 9 the week before Christmas. So she's getting Saige for her birthday from us and her aunt is getting her the Rainbow Loom. My mom got her the whole Harry Potter book series in a collector trunk.

For Christmas, the only thing she wanted from Santa was Saige's hot air balloon so I broke down and got it. I'm also in the boat of thinking we have this year and maybe one more before she doesn't believe so I'm hoping to make these last couple of years memorable with it. I also got a pack of American Girl earrings and I think I'm going to get her a gift card to go get her ears pierced. I got her a Monster High set that she wants and a Furby Boom. I think we're also going to pick up Scrabble and Twister Rave for her, an outfit from Justice, new pjs, rainbow loom refills for her stocking, the Harry Potter cookbook, a storage type thing for her American girl doll stuff and a tennis racket. She's been asking to take lessons so I think my mom might give her a gift certificate for a few of those. Oh, and probably a couple of Lego Friends things and some crafty stuff/new art stuff.

She's another one of those kids that thinks she wants toys but in all actuality, most of her toys aren't touched anymore. She just asked for a Wii U but I don't think our Wii has been turned on in months so I'm not spending that kind of money.

A few nice pairs of earrings and two nice bracelets so far.
The game Simon
Wii just dance 2014
Uggs-- leather with leopard fur inside
Probably a new coat
Hat, gloves
Maybe a pair of converse

Some books (looking for suggestions for a 10 y old. She doesn't like sci fi mysteries or fantasy.)

I am at a loss. She doesn't make a list and all she asked for was an iPhone which isn't happening.

So far my plan for dd11 is:

Ugg Boots (got them on sale--yes I found a sale)
iPad Mini-- School has a new BYOD policy, so this will work well
Vera Bradley iPad mini case
Soccer Pants

Maybe some Bath and Bodyworks stuff...she's always taking free samples of stuff
I like the idea of Taylor Swift perfume...I could see her liking that....

I don't know what else...she's really hard to buy for as anything I pick isn't "cool"....but gift cards are so anti-climatic

A couple of hits with my 11 year old recently

Wreck This Journal - might get her another version
Doorbell
Klutz - Cat's Cradle, window art

I ordered my twin 10y/o DDs Wreck this Journal -- it looks like they will have fun with it.
Ordered a clarinet and flute for AG - since each plays the instrument

not sure what else ... keeping an eye on this thread for ideas!

DD is 10yo and still gives me ideas, but she hasn't given me her list yet. I do know she wants the new iPod Touch. I just ordered her a refurbished one from Apple for a good deal. I also have the Lego Friends Advent calendar put away and the Nerf Rebelle bow. I want to get a 2nd Nerf bow to play with friends and am waiting on the Toys R Us exclusive to be released because it comes with a target.

For some of you looking for an idea--how about those design-your-own Converse? You give them the certificate and they get to design their own pair. You can Google it to see what I'm talking about.

When my daughter was a 'tween, I think I got her the following:

Clothes from Justice
A small Coach bag
iTunes card
some bracelets
hair things
perfume/lotion set
shoes or boots that she wanted
undies/bras/socks
a couple of books

There was a bunch more, but those are the first things that come to mind

My 11 year old got the password journal yesterday(I would much rather have waited until Christmas) but she really loves it.... an idea for anyone who might be struggling for ideas.

Custom converse--great idea!!!

Do they have to be the Rainbow Loom brand? What can I expect to pay? I'm looking at Amazon and they are $20+ right now......

I haven't read very many good reviews on other brands, but they might work just fine.
My daughter wants one but I haven't purchased it yet. You can order them directly from the website. rainbowloom.com They are 16.99 plus shipping.

My daughter is obsessed with Shleich animals. She collects them so there are several on her list.

A good pair of headphones
Bear Paw Boots
A couple of new outfits
A new purse
Pajamas w/ house shoes and a sleep mask
Disney Cinderella's glass slipper
Nerf crossbow

Stocking stuffers:
Amazon Gift Card
ITunes Gift Card
Small bottles of assorted BBW stuff

We usually buy one big gift but we are really struggling to come up with something.

DD turns 12 this week, so she has to come up with new ideas for a Christmas list. For her bday she asked for more Rainbow loom supplies and pink organizer, hair straightener, new iPod, iTunes and store gift cards. She likes picking out her own clothes and other things now, but don't want to just buy gift cards or give cash. So far she wants tall chocolate Ugg boots, sweatpants, and Beats. But are beats comfortable, and do kids really need that quality/price point? Also bought a shirt and custom Christmas ornament of our Havanese puppy on Zazzle, and a cute like mother/like daughter ornament that looks like big and little Ugg boots.
