What are you getting your Teen DS's this Christmas?

Great minds think alike - was just going to suggest the same thing! http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e91b/?pfm=Search&t=diy%20guitar%20pick%20punch I got one for my guitar-crazy son a couple of years ago, and it's still a hit. He was able to take old KTTW cards, Quartermasters arcade cards off the Magic, any cool used-up gift cards he had, and make his own picks that mean something to him. You can center the card you're using however you like, so you can zoom in on just the part of it you want for the pick. I totally recommend it! ::yes::

The one I ordered should arrive soon! I may have to play with it before I wrap it! Thanks for recommending it.

My DS is 15 and we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas (but just a little)- he is getting:

Hannukah:

A Top Gear - "I am the STIG" T-shirt that is being mailed from England at a cost of 13.99 shipping! It was the only place to get one. He is a big fan.
Dr. Who: The Vault: Treasures from the First 50 Years Book
Mario World 3D for the Wii U
I still need some small gifts and saw the lottery ticket idea. I think I'll throw that in with some candy, etc.

Christmas: kids usually only get one gift and a stocking with small things

Dr. Who Tardis Mini-Fridge for his room (it has sound effect and a flashing light on top!) He's going to love this one :)

I love this idea, but if we bought this I would literally never see my son again...:rotfl2:

My ds is also getting a pile of Dr. Who character building figures. It's nice because we don't know which ones you are getting, but a good pile ensures plenty to enjoy. Thinking about buying the 50th anniversary special blu ray, but only if it has some extra features...

Maria :upsidedow

My 2 DS(15,17) are each getting the new xbox one, they play their old ones every day, a few of the games upgraded to the "one" from reg platform,. Also we ordered a share of Disney stock, framed, for each one since Disney was going to stop issuing them that way.

I also have a few smaller items like new mouse pads and usb hubs for their PCs, some new pillows and sheets for their beds, new desk chairs... DS17 also is asking for some access for his newest gun, slings and ammo...

The stocking stuffers are candy, lotto scratch offs, chap-stick, earbuds, steam $, xbox points, google play GC, ...

I am sure there will be items we stumble across as we go.

Planning to get DS a phone when he turns 14 next summer. Should I buy him an iPod now or wait and go iPhone in the summer?

My ds13 s getting
Dirtbike riding gear (boots, pants/shirt, gloves, chest protector)
Minecraft lego sets
12 month Xbox Live card
A couple video games (don't know which ones yet)

For his stocking
Zombieland DVD
Itunes card
10 ft ipod cable
USB wall and car charger
candy/gum

He doesn't have a smartphone so maybe I'll upgrade his dumbphone to one.

Quoting myself since my original plan for ds has changed. We aren't getting his dirtbike gear until the spring. He doesn't want any Lego's so I'm giving the Minecraft ones I got him to my other ds.

He is getting an ipod touch and case
New headphones
12 months of Xbox Live
Battlefield 4
Steam card
A Minecraft Mods book
Stocking is staying the same but I'll throw in a scratch off ticket

DD19 is working and going to community college and she's asked for gift cards for clothes and gas cards, but I want to get her a few "fun" things as well, although she knows that now that she's an adult, Christmas is not the free-for-all it used to be.

I looked at the 50th Anniversary Vault Doctor Who book because I thought she'd enjoy it, but I'm not sure. I don't want to spend that kind of $ on something she'll look at once.

I might get her a season pass to Cedar Point, she really enjoyed having one this year and being able to go anytime she knew someone who was going :)

I have lots of ideas for ds7 but ds11, I really don't know. He asked for a paintball or beebee like gun and the razor motorized cart thing He will NOT be getting these for many reasons. So the only thing I can think of is really good headphones. What are you all getting your tween ds's?

Heads up for anyone interested in Doctor Who: according to Wal-Mart's site the 50th anniversary DVD will be out early December.

I also have a 13 year old. We live in England and interesting to see similar tastes. So far I have bought:
iPad Air and case
Watch
Zombie calendar with a make your own paper zombie for each month
Zombie encyclopaedia. (Hopefully these 2 will make up for the lack of a some Zombie video game which is a 16 certificate so off limits for now!)
World War Z ( saw film in DTD in August. Son was so happy as it was a 15 certificate in UK but a PG13 in US) needless to say he likes zombies.
A big Lego Star Wars set (he had about 80 sets, been collecting since he was 5, mostly bought in Lego shop in DTD, much cheaper than UK)
Lego Marvel PS3 game

When I write it down it seems like he is pretty spoilt. Only child syndrome. He has worked really hard at school and a good kid. He knows how lucky he is.
I gave him choice of new x box / ps4 but glad he chose iPad as I can use to and we can take on holiday to Orlando, watch what we like on the very long journey.

In UK and this is showing on TV tomorrow night aswell as in cinemas which is unusual for a TV show so maybe will be on at cinema in US also.

My son is no longer a "teen" (he's 20 and in college) but his list hasn't changed much since he was a teen! :lmao:

Still wants

TV DVDs
Some expensive electronic thing
Clothes
Gift cards.

I swear, it's been the same list since he was NINE! :headache:

We have the same son!!!

My ds12 and dd9 both want iPod Touch so that will be their main gifts. Ds also asked for a new baseball glove (his fell apart last season), a Philadelphia Eagles hat, another bb gun (got rifle last year and wants a pistol this year) and a new Bible because his is falling apart.
