What are you getting your Teen DS's this Christmas?

My DS is 17, and he said all he wants this year is a Fry's gift card. He just finished building a new gaming rig, and wants some peripherals for it. So that makes it easy! And since he's headed to college next year, he'll be getting all sorts of Aggie dorm stuff from the whole family, I'm sure. His stocking stuffers from me are already leaning that way -- just found him some Wayfarer-style maroon Aggie-emblazoned sunglasses yesterday that he has been wanting so bad (but didn't know they existed), so he'll be happy about that. :goodvibes

mrsbornkuntry -- You *have* to tell me where you found those hand sanitizers... omg, that sounds hilarious, and would be perfect stocking stuffers. Do tell!! ::yes::

DS 14 is getting 3 LP frames (he got Green Day's Uno, Dos and Tre LPs for his birthday), a video game I guess, a couple of books, clothing and some Montreal Canadiens merchandise.
Younger DS (11) is getting books (including one on Minecraft), a scooter, a Minecraft poster, clothing.

Both get toothbrushes, gel, headphones, gift cards, candy in their stockings.

I need some more ideas though .....

Amazon!! http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Hand-San...=8-1&keywords=I+heart+my+*****+hand+sanitizer

I have the OCD one in my purse! I bought it at a specialty store during an event (it was the tamest of all at the store) after I walked into a porta potty that was occupied by a gentleman (I am a woman).
:faint:
Scared the bezeezus out of me, and I felt dirty (he was standing, not sitting) and needed to sanitize my hands after touching the door. (Obviously he didn't know how to lock the door or just decided not to - thank goodness it was me who opened the door and not a little kid - the place was full of kids at the event.)

My kids basically pick whatever they want for Christmas as long as they stay within the budget. This year their budget is $350 each.

I think DD wants some new roller skates and a few pair of novelty character Chuck Taylor shoes.

I do believe DS may also want some roller skates and a few PS3 games.

He wants the new PS4 but that is not happening.

We always open presents on Xmas eve. We have never waited until Xmas morning because day time just doesn't feel like Xmas to me. And that is how my mom always did it with us.

So I will give them all the presents they picked for themselves Xmas eve but I will also have a few little extra surprises that they didn't ask for just so they can open some things and not know what they are. But being teens it is very hard to buy anything they like or is useful for cheap.

They already both have laptops, phones and Ipod touch so they don't need any electronics.

I always fill their stocking full of different kinds of candy. They know not to expect anything cool in the stocking. But I don't buy and keep candy in the house so on "candy" holidays I buy them candy.

My oldest son wants a hunting rifle for Christmas and he is 28 so I usually buy his gift or give him money weeks before Christmas.

My boys are so low maintenance, I hardly buy them anything all year, so I splurge at Christmas.

My DS20 missed our summer vac to WDW because he made a decision to accept an RA position at school instead. So for Christmas we, um Santa is sending him to WDW in January. He has his AP, and I was able to cancel his original airfare for a credit, thanks to DVC and some extra points hanging around, he has a place to stay. I'll fill his stocking with travel products and gift cards, and he'll have new socks, underwear, and an outfit or two to unwrap. And a pair of yellow shoes ( a running Christmas joke, one year he said his goal is to get yellow shoes every Christmas, I said challenge accepted. Yellow Nikes, Yellow Converse, yellow cleats....this year possibly yellow slippers)

My DS14 wears a uniform to school, and spends most of the rest of his time in practice clothes for sports, so for Christmas he usually gets non school clothes, socks, underwear. Then he'll probably want an Xbox live card for the year, some gift cards and video games. He loves Notre Dame, so there is always some ND merchandise for him and the big gift he's hoping for is a lacrosse net to practice at home.

We got ds11 an xbox(not the new model) I need some ideas on some games that are not rated M. What should I know about xbox? What extras do I need? Xbox live, what is that? Anyone ever done game fly?

My 12yo likes Skylanders, any of the Lego games, and Minecraft.

We have 2 boys, 13 & almost 17. They'll be getting a shared gift: PS4 with an extra controller & the camera & 2 games.
Also we're upgrading their old dumbphones to the Samsung Galaxy.

I preordered the PS4 & accessories/games back in July through Amazon but haven't shopped for the phones yet. We'll probably get Otterboxes for them too if they make them for the Galaxy.

Also GiftCardMall on Ebay was offering $50 iTunes gift cards for $40 so we got some of those too.

Dh just mentioned possibly upgrading the video cards in their computers.

We usually spend around $1000 per kid.
Most years it's huge pile of stuff but when small toys cost big $$$ it quickly becomes a small pile.

We have the same tradition, every year my kids get new PJs and an ornament on Christmas Eve. My kids ask if they can open something but they do it jokingly because they know exactly what it is they are going to open.
We do PJs and ornaments on Christmas too, but I don't wrap them. Sometime just after dinner I lay everyone's items out on the sofa in little piles, and it's an encouragement to go ahead and shower and go to bed. Even as teens, my girls are pretty anxious to go to bed on Christmas Eve so Christmas morning will arrive sooner!

As for what they're getting this year:

16-year old
Class ring, which she chose herself, so that's no surprise
2 video games for Xbox
Several books -- my girls expect a big, thick stack every year!
Dr. Who 1st season -- she's expressed an interest, but hasn't watched it previously
Dr. Who tee-shirt
Purple hoodie sweatshirt
Sweater-and-leggings outfit
Two hair twisters (or spirals) -- I'm highlighting this one because this is something new and unique that people may not've seen -- if your daughter has long straight hair, google them!
Cartoon book about Chemistry facts
Deck of cards with the Elements -- yes, she's taking Chem in the spring
Various stocking stuffers picked up over the year from clearance tables: Nail polish, socks, pretty ink pens, note pad, a couple pieces of costume jewelry

College daughter
TV for her new apartment
Vera Bradley wristlet to replace the raggedy one she carries constantly
Several small gift cards inside the wristlet -- mostly $10 cards for fast food in her college town, but also $50 Target card with note saying it's to be used towards shower curtain and bath mats for her new apartment
Several books
Teal hoodie
White long-sleeved tee paired with pretty scarf (she loves scarves)
Moccasin-type shoes with fuzzy stuff inside; she goes to school in a cold climate -- I bought her a pair of these two years ago and she wore them to pieces
Call the Midwife series -- Downton Abbey was a huge hit with her last year, and I'm hoping she'll like this as much
A couple old Disney movies from ebay -- she's recently announced a desire to begin her own collection
Deck of cards with human human anatomy details; she's taking Anatomy-Physiology next semester
Candle that smells like Red Velvet cake, her favorite
Various stocking stuffers picked up over the year from clearance tables: Nail polish, socks, pretty ink pens, note pad, a couple pieces of costume jewelry

This is what I have so far, and it'll be the bulk of their Christmas goodies. I'll still pick up a couple more things before Christmas (I note that I have few clothes this year), including any last minute "I want this soooo muches".

Both sons are off in college this year. So it's been tough figuring out what to get. They both have their own money for buying needs and wants through their scholarships. But we seem to have figured it out. I am hunting for 2 remote control vehicles~police and ambulance. Yes, we have criminal justice and preMed majors. Along w more NERF dart ammo (seems everyone in the dorm is into ambushing), sweaters, socks, pajamas & some gift cards for restaurants and car care.

We are also taking a family trip for Christmas and visiting Moody Gardens so I am thinking about adopting an animal (conservation) for the family.

For my DS14, I'm hoping to find a good deal during Black Friday on a notebook. He broke his during the summer and has been using mine since then. He doesn't like Windows 8 though, so I'm not sure if I should look for a Windows 7 one or bite the bullet with Windows 8.

Also, I'll probably get him 1 or more .99% silver bullion/coins (he collects them as an investment.), and Bill O'Reilly's latest book.

DS18 and DS15 are both getting portable chargers for their phones. I bought one for our WDW trip and they keep borrowing it because they either forgot to charge their phones overnight, or their chargers weren't plugged in all the way. I need them to have their phones charged so they can text me when they need rides, when the bus is going to be late, etc. They can keep the chargers in their backpacks and use them whenever they need them. Now they'll just have to remember to keep the chargers charged!

They'll also get a few gift cards and/or video games. And I'll give them some cash to use for movies, meals with their friends, snacks at school, etc.

We do PJs and ornaments on Christmas too, but I don't wrap them. There's a Christmas thread just for teen girls. Just an FYI because I think others there would love to see your ideas as well :)

Where do u buy the axe gift sets? This is the 1st year I hear my son talking about it

My DS will turn 13 on 12/28... I have double to buy!! Not much on his list. He wants gift cards to Great Wolf Lodge and a new video game chair so far. He loves sports so I'll probably order some Cowboys items from nfl.com. Maybe some new baseball stuff like bat bag, bat , & glove . thinking of a new Under Armor hoodie cause I usually won't spend that much on a sweatshirt!

I hear ya...DS is turning 13 on 12/11 and we also celebrate Chanuka and Christmas. We will be getting him and our 10 yr old DS books, not sure what else but their big gift is we got tickets for us all to go see the Bruins when they are in town to play the Capitals. We will probably get Bruins jerseys to go with it. He has joined the running club at school so probably some running clothes too.
