Hi

I need some help and inspiration my dears!

There is nothing that he wants so he isn't giving me any clues.
I can only really spend about £100-£150 tops.

I thought about one of those Red Letter Days things, maybe White Water Rafting or something, but I want to see if I can come up with any other ideas.

PLLLLLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE HELP!!

Thanks

Does he have any hobbies or interests ? The red letters day idea is a good one :)

He likes playing Golf, playing football (supports Tottenham), also likes watching football/rugby on tv.

OK heres my suggestion, (no DH any more but I did have one once)
(firstly beware the red letter day thing, they did go into receivership at one point with hundreds of people never getting the 'gift' they were supposed to so check it out thoroughly)
How about a 'man basket' with his favourite drink, copies of FHM or GQ or similair, some man smellies, his fave film on DVD ie saving private ryan or similair.
a day at a golf club or scuba diving instruction course (there will probably be one close to you)
a slushy scrapbook full of details from your first date up to the wedding
a 'secretly' filmed videotape of you doing a striptease (might have to rope a very good girlfriend in on this one), or some arty nude photos of you
a 'chequebook' full of promises - some risque - that he can 'bank' with you at any time he fancies, BUT YOU MUST STICK TO THEM, ie, one could say, I give carte blanche for him to have a night with the lads that he could use when he really wants to and you're not so keen!
there's my suggestions I'll think of more.. :rotfl:

Some nice ideas there, thanks. :)

He doesn't really read men mags and isn't too bothered about DVD's etc. so maybe not the man basket idea.

He is really hard to buy for...

OMG Carol, are you a Ann Summers rep or something !!! ??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm sorry but what I've bought my hubby this year is extremely tame to the above suggestion (hee, hee), I've got him a digital camera as his main pressie, then he's got the Star Wars DVD, a T-Shirt from the Magic Kingdom, mini- lightsabre from Star Tours, choccie and other bits and pieces. Last year I bought him a Disney Share (that he thought was Brilliant !!) and in previous years he's driven a rally car.

I'm off for a lie down now after Carol's suggestion (there are some saucy people on these boards !!!!!) :)

Hi Mandy - saucy?me? ha ha ha as someone who has been single for nearly 8 years thats a real laugh :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Me! Me! Me! I've got a camera, and if you "rope" your girlfriend in......

...yes, officer I'll come quietly.

However, as a DH myself, a good malt whisky always goes down well. Does he have an MP3 player. How about a special day at Spurs (ouch! did i really say that). I'm sure they do ground tours before the game, with meal etc.

Thanks a bunch Richard, I just spat my coffee all over my computer :rotfl2:

Now that's a good idea Richard, no not the 'rope' bit. But if your DH supports a football team, then a ticket to a game over the Christmas/New Year break with a meal thrown in sounds like a good idea to me (I must make a note of that for next year)

Portable DVD player?

Great for long flights to Florida.

I was thinking of this, but I cannot find tickets anywhere for Spurs games.
Where can I get tickets from?? :confused3
They all seem to be sold out already.

This seems really strange as I am Liverpool supporter but try:

www.spurs.co.uk

They should at least have a phone number you can contact, or maybe ticket information online.

Thanks but I tried that and all there is on sale is England v France u21.
Doh!!

I think you'll probably need the help of a lovely fan club or season ticket holder

That's what I thought but the only Spurs fan I know is him and he isn't a season ticket holder.

Well, that's killed that idea.

Hmmmm....my poor brain - I have been thinking about this all day.

Doh!!

England v. France is being played this friday....have you tried ringing 0870 420 5000, spurs are at home to Portsmouth on Dec 12 looks like there are tickets for this but you cannot apply until 17th of November.

"HOME MATCHES: NON MEMBERS
Match tickets for Home fixtures can normally be purchased the Thursday preceding three weeks in advance of the match date:

By Internet - Log on to www.tottenhamhotspur.com click on to “Tickets” and then the sub-heading “On-line Tickets”.

By Telephone - Call the Spurs Ticketline 0870 420 5000, subject to a £1.80 per ticket service charge and a 60p transaction fee.

In Person - From the Park Lane Ticket Office open Monday to Friday 10am-6pm."

...They are at home to Birmingham on boxing day and these tickets go on sale on Thursday 1st December...

Thanks, but I don't want to go before Xmas, and we can't make Boxing Day due to prior engagements.

I think I will give it a miss this Xmas, and have to try and think about something else.

I do appreciate all your help on the football thing tho.
Thanks

I ‘suffer’ the same problem with my DH. Last year I bought him a portable DVD player, he travels a lot and spends a lot of time in hotels so he really loved this.

So far this year I have bought him an electronic Sudoku game, he loves this latest craze and would be another thing to keep him occupied whilst couped up in an hotel, The Ashes 2005 DVD (although it breaks my heart to pay for anything celebrating an English victory ;) ) and an Arsenal Interactive Quiz DVD. Will probably get him some more Arsenal goodies if nothing else comes up.

I would love to buy him tickets to an Arsenal, any Arsenal, match but it seems you can’t just buy tickets to football games anymore!

I bought him a red letter day gift two years ago and he went car racing, he loved it.

Have a look at Lastminute.com for some more ideas.
