What are you getting your DH for Xmas??

Having just read through this thread I feel the need for a cold shower ;)

I would love to help you Tink78 but I don't even know what I want for Christmas :( I usually end up telling DW about a week beforhand and then she has a mad panic trying to get whatever it is on time :teeth:

we never buy gifts for each other :confused3 we never get organised enough and the kids get loads spent on them :guilty:

How about a dvd boxset of his fave programme. Theres lots about at the mo, like simpsons, 24, lost, farscape, futurama, startrek, stargate etc ?

I have adopted a manatee for my other half, as when we were in florida a month ago we swam with wild ones, and it was awesome. I will also buy him a few other small bits like tshirt, book (coast - he liked the tv series), dvd (amazing internet deals at the mo. I got 'master and commander' for 5.99 bargain)

Although he's played for over 35 years, last year I got DH a course of Golf improver lessons. He gets to play with the pro and REALLY loved them. That cost just over £100 so should be in your budget.

Another year I got him a lesson in a Microlight from the local airfield - he loved that too.

my boyfriend chris has had lots of different things from me over the last four years

including the promises cheque book lol!!!! and he still has promises left

he has also had a flight in a tiger moth

this year i think i will get him a helicopter ride

I would like a day at a Golf School! Everyone wants to be a better golfer. I was going to suggest this to my DW to get me for x-mas.

What about a "package" of unusual beers? This always goes down a treat with DH :)

I can't say any more as he reads the boards here!

Books? I like the idea of golf lessons :)

I cannot comment on the earlier idea, but let me just say - I have many good friends but none of them are good enough to have to undergo the thought of me doing a striptease trauma LOL

I bought DH the Richard Petty Rookie experience at the Richard Petty race track at WDW for an Xmas present one year. However I note that you do not have a WDW countdown so maybe not this year.

A night out at Hard Rock Cafe in London or Planet Hollywood?

I have pre-ordered the X box 360 for DH this Xmas. Hope that it actually arrives as many stores have stopped taking pre-orders!

Good luck with your ideas and let us know what you decide.

All those ideas are really good. My dh loves too things, football and power tools so any pressie related to those two and he is thrilled!

'Fraid I'm not much help either. A bottle of a nice Single malt is gratefully received, but we have the same discussions in our house too.

"What do you want for Chrismas" - Nothing I can think of
"My mum wondered what to give you" - tell her I'd be happy if she spent more on the troops
"My sisters notice you hadn't worn the jumper they bought you" - I've never noticed it in my wardrobe
"They wondered what to give you this year" - Nothing I can think of

Now ask me to buy others and I'm in different mode. Watching everyone open their parcels is magic. :goodvibes

I am very lucky, My DF is very easy to buy for. I only struggle with getting him a gift that is a suprise as any DVD's CD's I get are generally ones I like aswell.

Last year his unexpected gift was a lego Ferrari which he loves, This year I havnt got him anything that will be completely unexpected yet, Still working on it!

Well I have'nt got one, a husband that is, but I know what I would get him if I did, one of those Star Wars Lightsaber things.

My friend has just bought one for her husband and had it delivered to the office today and we have'nt stopped playing with it all day.

Fantastic fun, with its lights and sounds, but I have to say mighty expensive.

What the heck, might buy one away, just incase I get asked to appear in any more TV programmes like Dr Who. :rotfl2:

Tink - good luck with the ideas, I have the same problem with my DH. He spends a lot of time away staying in hotels so am going down to the portable DVD route this year.

Annmarie - suggestion for a future pressies for your DH since he appears to be a Gooner (assuming he's not already done this . . . ).

Join him up as a Red Member, an official member of the AFC. Costs £35, but you get a presentation "tin" full of goodies, at the moment there is actually some nice stuff in there commemorating Highbury (exclusive DVD, mouse mat, book, cuff links . . . ). By becoming a Red Member this also gives access to booking tickets for matches. You can only buy one ticket, but he could at least get to a game of his choice.

DH has been a Red Member for a number of years and each year you renew you get new bits like above.

I'm sure other footy teams probably offer something similar too.

Also, the tour of Highbury is a very good one. Took Darryl up there for his 40th and even DD was engrossed. I'm not a Gooner (support QPR where I was brought up!), so have been to Highbury many times, but it was worth it just to see his face, bless

Phone Martin Joll up and ask if hubby can have a game! :rotfl2:

Oh Carol (never heard that before I bet) Lets discuss this roping in of girlfriends/stripping/video cameras.

Hold on, need a cold shower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right, good idea I would go with this one, I might suggest this to Jacqui see if she can oblige!

p.s. you should hear what women REALLY talk about in the loos

I have, staggering into one by mistake in a drunken state many years ago. I bearly managed to get out alive!

You lot put us to shame when it comes down to bad drunken behaviour

Steve hic!
