What's everyone doing for new years eve this year? (and to celebrate my 23rd birthday on 12/31 ;) ).

I had a trip planned to Disney but we pushed it back to the summer when work wasn't so busy.

I think we are going to spend NYE in DC since it's my favorite city!

Does everyone else go out, stay in, go to Disney, etc. etc??

:teeth:

We usually keep it low key. We have two boys (9 & 11) and we usually go over to my DH's sister's house and play cards, board games and eat all night. Might have the occassional cocktail or two, also. ;) Makes for a fun night.

Going to a friend's house party where I will be the only single woman among all couples -- AND I won't be drinking because I have to drive home.

I know this is totally unrelated...I :lmao: at your tag about the james blunt song!

We just stay home, rent movies and eat junk food. My son who is now 7 has been allowed to stay up until midnight since he was about 4, he LOVES it. My daughter is only 3 so I think she'll go to bed a bit earlier. But we just kick back and relax, we eat mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, nachos, we have fondue (chocolate of course!). It's just a fun night. I'm not into driving anywhere on NYE, too many drunk people out on the road. It's just not worth it to me to go out.

Our tradition is to eat Chinese food.
We'll probably also watch a movie before switching to the countdown.

We did the same thing as you when I was younger...it was just so much fun. And we'd buy those cheezy decorations from the dollar store and just have a ton of fun with it.

And i totally agree about the driving....I usually get a hotel near the bars in whatever city we're at so we can just walk all over.

I have to work on New Year's Day, so no big parties for me. I'll watch Anderson Cooper ring in the New Year on CNN and then go to bed.

We have my family over to not only celebrate the New Year, but to also celebrate my DH's b-day, which is on th 28th. It's always a fun night!!!!! :cool1:

Disney at the Atrium club in the Contemporary after we have dinner at Jiko's. I hope we can get back to the hotel after the 9:00 ps. :rotfl: We will not attempt a park that evening!

This year we are celebrating New Year at Epcot  DH never likes working NYE since being assaulted badly four years ago at the strike of midnight whilst on duty. So we booked NYE off this year quite a while ago and then decided to do something real fun and booked to go to WDW :Pinkbounc

Claire ;)

We'll be driving to WDW!! We should arrive at WDW around 6 or 7pm, but I think we'll just hang out at the resort, go to bed early so that we can wake up early for our Hollywood and Vine Character breakfast on New Year's day!! :cool1:

I am having a c-section on December 26th so I think our NYE will be very low key :goodvibes

Well it depends on when my blessed inventory observation for work will be. All I know is that it is somewhere between the 26th and the 2nd. I'm hoping that if its around the 31st I at least get to board a plane and go somewhere even though I won't see anything besides tanks of crude and pipelines. :(

If its earlier in the week bf and I will probably just stay home and watch movies again like last year and if we are up for midnight drink champagne. Otherwise we'll just do that during the bowl game on the 1st.

My best friend will be out of town so it's going to be a pretty crappy NYE for me :guilty:

Not sure this year.. so far we havent been invited to any parties.. But I will have my kiddos this year for New Years so I think I will make some chips and dip, little sausages with bbq and some punch and ring it in with the kids.. Probably watch Dick Clarks as this is a tradition and play some board games with DD8..
