What Are You Celebrating?? Air Conditioning!! A July 2010 TR UPDATE 12/11 p24

Love all the purchases. I love your bluish colored pearl. That really pops inside the coach.

You brought home a ton of nice things!!! :) I always say "only a few" souvies and then end up with way, way more than I intended. Ha!

My daughter Morghan loves the Mickey peace sign and heart shirt the girls got. Cute!!! I also picked up the same 2010 ornament in September. If I recall correctly, we both got the same mirror 2009 ornament last year. :) Super cool coincidence! I want those window clings next time. With four kids, one cat and one dog, I'm sure my whole back window will be covered. lol!!
Thanks! We must have the same tastes in souvenirs! Do you drive a mini-van? Maybe then your window would be big enough for the whole family!

Love all of your purchases! As you saw on my TR, I bought the same scrapbooking kit. I haven't even thought about starting up my new scrapbook yet. I'm just too tired to do much of anything lately!
I remember you bought it too! I won't get around to using it for a while! My girls' books are woefully behind the times, and as much fun as the vacation books are, I vowed I would get caught up with at least one of their books before I did all these vacations! But at least I have the supplies!
I'm sure you are tired - that baby needs your energy!! It will change soon I'm sure!

Congrats to your volleyball team and girls!!!!

Love the souvie pictures! So many things that I would like to bring home with me too!! LOL!!

Thanks! We had so much fun!
That's the problem with WDW - they keep coming up with more stuff I need to buy! I have no restraint! It's horrible.

Followed you over from CharlestonPrincess's TR.

Great TR. Your family is adorable.

We will be going in July next year and just like to read TR from the times were are going. We have been before in June/July so I know it is going to be hot.

I see you are staying at AKL on your next trip. Is that were your home resort is? We just purchased DVC in May after our stay there.

:welcome: Thank so much! I think we managed to tolerate the heat pretty well for a bunch of northerners!
We are staying at AKL (just put up my ticker today!). We've stayed there for one night before and fell in love! I really didn't expect to like it so much. But no, it is not our home resort, we bought at Vero Beach, since it was cheap for points. We were able to book AKL at about 6 months out though. We'll be staying in a savannah view studio at Jambo. So you bought AKV? COOL!! When is your next trip (I should have looked for a ticker before I replied!)

Love all the purchases. I love your bluish colored pearl. That really pops inside the coach.

Thanks! I am drinking out of my Mickey mug almost every day!
I thought the pearl looked cool in the necklace too. Sarah's is almost TOO big! It just barely closes around it, and it doesn't move at all!!

Oh my...you got so many cute things I don't know where to start. I love the mug. I am such a sucker for Disney mugs. I want to purge my kitchen cabinets of all mugs other than Disney!

You got some really cute Tshirts and I love the Mickey wallet. That is adorable.

So off the beach. Can't wait to read more!

I hardly ever use any other mugs but Disney mugs - I always take my refillable mugs in the car. Although I have noticed that they do a good job keeping drinks cold, but not so great at keeping things warm.
I love that wallet, but I can't seem to use just that one. I have a big Mickey bag and wallet so I just use that one to hold my coupons and extra cards, like my discount cards etc. My SIL basically told me I NEEDED to buy it, so I did! She got one too I think!

I always enjoy looking at souvenir pictures! You bought some really cute things! It makes me want to head back down there even more so I can do some shopping.

Hey Sheree! :goodvibes

Oh My Goodness, I was sooo far behind in your TR! This working everyday thing is really putting a cramp in my DISing!!! :rotfl:

Your last day at BC/Epcot sounds so fabulous! :thumbsup2 The KP missions are are the girls top 5 things to do in August!!! It looks like fun! :)

I LOVE the girls Shirt and sundress! Soo cute! :cutie:

We are thinking of splitting our stay now between Poly and AKL so we will have some time to check out the Zawadi MArketplace!!! Natalie insists she needs to see some Giraffes and Ken and I both really want to eat at Boma! Why not stay for a night or 2?? I suggested!! SURE was the unanimous reply!!! We are still waiting for either a PIN or a deadly GP deal before we book tho...!

Can't wait to hear all about your time at the beach!!!

We stayed at the Studio Value(it overlooked the pool) on our trip in April and loved it. But we are going next month and staying at a Savannah view studio. :cool1: I can't wait.:woohoo:

LOVE the souvies!!! I have to get me one of those Mickey mugs. I've become quite the coffee drinker since our last trip, so I'd say it's a must! :surfweb: We've got the Mickey stickers for the car~beware-they crack. We've had our just about 2 years and I'm getting ready to scrap them off because they're missing pieces. :sad1: Gues I'll just have to pick up another set in January! And I'm debating on doing the pearl in Japan. Being the only girl that takes a bit of fun out of it, but I'm sure the boys could spend hours looking around at toys while I'm getting my pearl. Did you get your carriage there or pre-order it somewhere (Yes, I'm too lazy to go back and check). ;)

Sheree - I am joining late... I have subbed and now going back to read!

Oh, yes, work does interfere with DISing!!
Thanks! I think your girls would like KP! Oh, I hope you get to split your stay. Switching is really NO big deal! AKL is great - we will be there in March and I am so excited! We got a pin the other day (of no use to us - wish I could share!). Hopefully you will too!

We stayed at the Studio Value(it overlooked the pool) on our trip in April and loved it. But we are going next month and staying at a Savannah view studio. :cool1: I can't wait.:woohoo:
Oh, you'll have to let me know how you like the Savannah studio. Are you going to be at Kidani or Jambo? How many people are you? Did you fit okay in the value? Sorry for all the questions! I'm excited about our AKV stay. I wish I had more points to stay longer! Someday....

Isn't that mug cute? I love it!! I'm worried about my stickers too. Especially with our harsh weather! Only one of them gets the wiper blade over it, so hopefully they will last. I thought we should have put them on the inside, but Dave didn't think they would look right. I thought they were basically the same either way. :confused3
You need to do Pick a Pearl - it's fun, maybe the boys would like the ceremony. I ordered my carraige necklaces off ebay - really cheap and they came with the chain. I think the white pearls would stand out more in a gold carraige, but i don't remember if there was a choice. I'm lazy too - don't feel bad! I'm happy to answer any questions!

:welcome: Better late than never right? I've got plenty more to blab about! Glad you're here!

Okay, so I am loving some of the stuff you got!!

I'm particularly excited about our January trip because I am determined to get myself a t-shirt or perhaps even a sweatshirt, now that I can shop for smaller sizes.

Each time we got to Disney, I bring only $50 to spend on myself....

and each time I come home with about $20 in merchandise for myself, and the rest gets spent on the kiddies.

This time is going to be different...

I'm using my ENTIRE shopping amount on myself (and I'm bringing more than $50 this time)

ALTHOUGH, we have to be really careful what we buy, because we are flying down with carry on luggage only!! (Although, if we get the deal of the "luggage with minimum purchase" and we consider it a reasonable price, we might just get that and check the one bag on the way home.)

I sure have enjoyed this TR, even though I haven't posted much. Can't wait for the wrap up!

You sure came home with some really great things!! :thumbsup2 I am always thinking that I am going to have to buy additional luggage or another bag!! :sad2: That is why I think more and more that I "need" an Owners Locker ;)
I was laughing at your gifts for your boss....I love Figment and I have a Cooper too!! I have that same antenna topper because it matches my British mirrors I have on mine right now!! :thumbsup2
I love those frames from Murano! They are beautiful and I have made a mental note to check them out in May :thumbsup2
I also like buying Mickey Head soaps from Basin along with the bombs. They make nice gifts if I don't use them all first!! And I remember your tip about breaking the bombs up with a hammer which I have done also :thumbsup2
Your tie-dyes came out great!!

Okay...I am ready for the beach!! :cutie:

Yes my friend, you do need to bring more $$ next time!! The nice sweatshirts are probably around $50 for just that! You deserve a new one now that you're so svelte!

Thanks Tracy! I always think I need to get more stuff! It's all so cute it's hard to refrain! The murano glass things are just beautiful. My co-worker stuck a picture of me in her frame and left it on her desk. So now when I go to WDW, she won't miss me too much!
I finally broke down and unwrapped a mickey head soap I bought in DEC 2009!!! I just wanted to save it! So now it's in my shower.
I'm glad the bath bomb hammer trick helps! I can't imagine using a whole one for one bath (especially for the kids!). Must ration them!
Yeah, maybe an owners locker would be good. Less stuff to pack would be nice! If I could go more often, I'd definitely get one. It seems unnecessary for once a year or so. Not sure what I'd keep in it then. What do most people leave in them? I should ask Wigd!
We are headed to the beach coming up soon!!!

Oh, you'll have to let me know how you like the Savannah studio. Are you going to be at Kidani or Jambo? How many people are you? Did you fit okay in the value? Sorry for all the questions! I'm excited about our AKV stay. I wish I had more points to stay longer! Someday....

We were five people in the value studio (Me, DH & DD6,DS4 & DS2) and we had no problem. We were there for 9 nights and never felt overly crowded. Some people on the DVC board said it was going to be tight, but we like the family bonding:rotfl: All three kids slept in the pull out sofa and DH & I slept in the bed. I really enjoyed having an extra sink in the kitchenette area.

Great pictures of all your souvenirs. Everyone found something fun to remember the trip. I especially liked the princess onesie and glass slippers. :goodvibes

Just getting caught up here. Looks like you got lots of awesome souvenirs! :cool1: I just love shopping at DTD!!
Hey Welcome back Shelly! Are you getting back into the swing of "normal" life? I keep telling myself each trip I don't need anything, but it's so hard to resist!! I should stay out of DTD! Not that I couldn't find more stuff at other places!

Oh that is so good to know! There will just be four of us and I expect the girls will have the pull out.

Thanks! We always try to find something different each time. The girls liked the glass slippers and I originally said no. I just thought it would be something they would lose, break or leave lying around somewhere. Daddy overrode me, bought them anyway, and they have managed to stay on the girls' dressers looking pretty for the most part. Probably need to be dusted though!!

Hoping to get an update up today about the beach condo, and NASA.

I love all the souvenirs, you made some good picks!
I went to the BC looking for a travel mug, but they had nothing truly specific BC, it was disappointing.
I really like the gift with purchases - hope they carry on some of those deals when we're there in January.
I am interested to hear about Vero Beach and of course DVC! :thumbsup2

Hey Drakes- I hear you on the resort specific stuff. It's a bummer.

So I was about to hit Reply on my big long update and must have hit something else. It disappeared!! GRRR! That makes me so mad, then I don’t even want to do it. Of course, nothing was saved anywhere.

Here we go again.

We were heading to Cocoa Beach for a week at a condo.
We drove in the pouring rain the whole way. Thanks to a wrong exit (my mistake in navigation), we tacked on a half an hour to our trip. We finally arrived at about 7:30!
We met up with the family - two of Dave’s sisters, and families. One of them was staying next door to us and one (who lives in FL) was staying at a neighboring campground in their motor home with two of their granddaughters. The girls were roughly the same age as our kids, so they were happy to have friends!

I thought I had more of the inside of the condo, but I don’t know what happened to them. I’ll keep looking. It was a 2BR condo ocean view on the 5th floor. The girls had one room with 2 queen beds. We had our own suite - with a King sized bed and our own balcony. It looked right out at the ocean! I loved that! There was laundry machines in the room, so that was handy. We would not go home with lots of dirty laundry!!

The plan was to go to the grocery store and get some things for breakfast, lunches, snacks and drinks. Um, the only problem was, by the time we got settled, it was 8:30. The issue ??? The grocery store closed at 9!!! We hightailed it over there and spent 15 minutes racing through the aisles trying to find everything. Of course I forgot a few things, but we had enough to get by.

The next day we originally planned to stay at the condo and relax, but DH’s sister had gotten us tickets to Kennedy Space Center and one of the grandkids had to go home on Tuesday, so we decided we could get up early and go with them on Monday.

We set the alarm for 7. Got up and had breakfast and found out that SIL’s camper had an awning blown off during the night from high winds. So once they took care of that, we set off. We got through the gate around 9:45 and started touring KSC. It’s pretty cool. We did the Robot Scout Tour/show, took the bus tour to Launch Pad 39, Gantry, the Saturn V rocket and the International Space Station assembly. We checked out the space shuttle and the gift shop before leaving.

I think Sarah was touching a moon rock.

Dave found himself some t-shirts.

We headed back to the condo about 3:30 and had some PB&J sandwiches and snacks. Then it was time to hit the waves!!!
DSCN2618.jpg

We swam in the ocean for a while and saw a Royal Caribbean ship - Monarch of the Seas leaving Port Canaveral.

Then the kids wanted to go to the pool. They have the coolest pool area. Lazy river, big slide, kiddie pool with fountains, hot tubs, and regular pool. Only problem was, the lazy river, slide and kiddie pool all closed early - like at 5 or 6 p.m.!! It was different every day. Drove me nuts!! What is with this place? Aren’t we allowed out after dinner???
I know I have some pictures of the pool area too. I guess I have to upload more to photobucket.

We hung out in the regular pool and were about to leave, when the rest of the gang joined us. So we swam a while and then about 7 got dressed and went out to eat. Taco John’s and Long John Silver had a combo place, so we ate there. Then we went to Ron Jon’s Surf shop for a while and did some shopping. We stayed up late at the condo visiting, and Paige was playing with her cousin that was leaving the next day.
I was hoping to sleep in, lay low on Tuesday and enjoy the ocean - I was loving that ocean air smell!!!

More pictures!
