we are in the process of refurbishing this area for your future enjoyment!
Please ignore the mess in the middle of the room. The dresser was my sister's but she didn't take it when she moved out, so that and the drawers are being sold. Just waiting for the guy to pick it up. We found the dice among a pile of DSis's stuff she didn't take so Pop Pop was being funny and hung it from the fan; he said it fits the 'Cars' theme! The rest of the stuff covered is a chair and ottoman that is going in my room, and a whole bunch of my bow making supplies/ribbon to be put away once my room is finished. Oh, the closet doors are getting replaced too.
So, basically only look at the walls!
We start with ...
DD's side of the room after the coat of pink
(Yes, we are using Disney Behr paint!)
Some more of DD's pink half and DS's side being taped off. We primed the room before we began painting. The ceiling has already been painted white. DSis's room was a pink/peach color.
Pop Pop measuring where to place the checkered flag on the wall.
Our very scientific measurements
DS's side - blue sky, pink primer on bottom half
fuzzy dice!
Three Cheers for Pooh red and 24 yr old peach carpet (that is getting replaced)
Barely visible beginning sketches for DD's harlequin design
Checkered flag painted
Pop Pop pulling off the tape
Ta-dah!
Pop Pop is hoping to come home this afternoon so we can start taping the diamonds on DD's wall. We anticipate this to be a veeeeerrrryyyy long process. It took 2 hours to tape the checker flag!
I'm considering making a tiara type thing to go on the wall above DD's bed w/ the tulle to drape down from it. Know what I'm talking about? I need to find pictures to see if I think it would look ok w/ the diamond pattern on the wall. Also I'm going to paint an Aurora cameo-type portrait to go over the dresser. Also on my to do list: tulle bed skirt, tulle night table, new lampshade and nightlight. AND - order the carpet!
In the kids' playroom, I need to paint the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse mural and Toodles - oh so much to do and my goal is to have this all complete (minus the night table and bedskirt) by the end of March!
