What are you afraid of?

It doesn't have to be a full on phobia, but what gives you the willies? For me, it's spiders. I don't have a phobia, but I just don't like them near me!

I have a total full on phobia of these things. I can't even type the word.

I used to never be afraid of dying until I had my daughter. I am afraid of leaving her without a mother. Does that make sense?

Oh, and the beach too. I would probably rather go to a pool. There could be jellyfish, or sharks, or I could drown. Worst of all... Crabs!!! EEeeeeeeeeek!

Heights..especially going over bridges...and this is a slight (?) problem..living on Long Island. My kids know when I'm driving over a bridge ..it's time to be quiet...mom is white knuckle driving, I get so nervous. Then breath a big sigh of relief when we reach the other side!

My little boy has a BIG fear of the screen saver on my computer. I have no idea why... we've tried changing it to other things, but it still freaks him out. He won't walk past my office without asking me if the screen saver is on.

Snakes, definitely!

And this is strange, but I can't put my hands down in dishwater and I will NOT take a bath, because if there is anything, and I mean ANYTHING, like a speck of dirt or a hair, it FREAKS me out!!! Yuk, yuk, yuk! I'm a shower only girl!

I used to be able to swim in pools, lakes until I just read the poopy thread over on the resort board. :earseek: Now, I don't know if I'll ever go swimming again. LOL

Heights and Escalators.
I won't even climb a ladder, but I will take an escalator if I have to. :crazy2:

I confess that I have a few fears. I am petrified of lightening (my trip to WDW in August was, well interesting at times!!!!). I am also scared of injections (I have to take tranquiliser tablets if I know I am going for an injection otherwise you would not even get me there!). I am scared of dogs too as I was attacked by one when I was little but I am getting better with that one.

Snakes, rats, and mice (except Mickey and Minnie of course :D ).

My skin is crawling now. Yikes!

I was told by a psychologist that this is a fear, but I'm not really afraid. When I am on high things, bridges, tall buildings with balconies, mountain cliffs, I get this urge (not overwhelming, but very strong) to jump.

I am also afraid of ferris wheels, skyway rides and flying. I feel different with these three than other times I am up high. Maybe it's because I am strapped in or something, but I feel almost like a panic attack is coming on. I can fly, but I read a book as soon as I sit down, and use some exercises my doctor gave me to alleviate some panic. Once we take off, I am much better. And, I hate mice. I had a mouse a year ago last September, and felt like a prisoner in my house. I was afraid to walk anywhere.

My biggest fear has always been crowds, but, again I have exercises that I use and can do okay as long as I prepare ahead of time.

Snakes, clowns, sharks and plummeting to my death.

Also-- I am deathly afraid that my MIL will some day want to live with us!!!:crazy2:

Snakes. Add flying. Haven't flown in 10 years! I'll drive. :teeth: Maybe big beds. LOL! I've been sleeping on the sofa since I'm in my new home.

I'm okay going over bridges non stop, but if traffic is backed up, I start thinking about it falling apart from the weight and drowning. Went over the bridge-tunnel today. Thank goodness it's a short one! But while in the tunnel, I wonder if it might start leaking and cave in. How DO they build tunnels under water?

I'm deathly afraid of fish.

I can't look at them. I don't care if they are alive or dead. I've been this way since I can remember.

I go to a doctor that has a huge aquarium in his waiting room. I had to explain that I couldn't go in there, so they let me in the back door. :D

I'm not trying to make you feel awkward, but that's fascinating! I've never known of anyone who's that afraid of fish. Don't feel bad, though - as you see, we all have something.

Bird Poop...

I love the beach, but whenever I'm there I'm a total basketcase, always ducking whenever the seagulls come near me.:duck:

I also do this at the zoo...the peacocks walking around are okay, but anything flying above me and I freak out :scared1: :scared:

I know its weird, but for some reason, I think every bird is determined do do its business right on my head...they say its good luck for that to happen to you, but I can't see the logic in that.:scratchin

I am afraid of hypodermic needles, dentists, and losing my job. Not necessarily in that order.

And currently, I'm mostly afraid of the pain that my physical therapist inflicts on my ankle three times a week.

Squirrels, clowns, bridges, going into my basement at night, sleeping closest to the door.
