What are typical December discounts??

We are thinking of planning a trip for this December. I tried to find out what past December discounts have been, but on Mousesavers, all it said was that there was a general public discount and the dates...no details. Anyone know what was offered last year? Didn't they extend free dining last year? We are thinking of going around the 15th or so. Thanks for any info!!

Last year they had AP and FL resident discounts but to me the best was the Disney Visa free dining offer that started Sept 28-Dec 20. As long as your stay started by the 20th you could stay through Dec 31 from what I recall last year. There were a few black out times but it seemed from what I read as long as your stay began before the blackout time, you could book into it, just like what happened for Christmas. We went beginning Sept 28 for the F&W festival. Hope this helps.

You're welcome, but Free Dining really wasn't extended, it was a new offer made only for Disney Visa holders. This particular offer was never available to the general public (just in case you don't have the card).

Oh,okay....I didn't realize that. I do have the Disney Visa. I thought that Mousesavers.com listed a general public discount for last December, but there were not any details on what it was. I wonder what kind of discount was offered then??

The free dining dates offered to Disney Visa people were:
9/28-10/11
11/9-11/22
and
12/14-12/20.

I'm not quite sure about the general public package deals, but I think it was something like 20% off the room rate. I've looked all this up, but I've gathered so much info, I can't keep it all straight! There's a long Dec 08 code watch thread you can seacrh for - it has a lot of info on last year's deals.

Last September Disney Destinations sent out some emails that offered free dining pin codes for very select dates in October, November and December, 9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22 and 12/12-12/20 to be exact . These emails were random, not for the general public, and the codes were non-transferrable. About two weeks after that Disney Visa sent out a free dining code for their card holders for the same select dates in October, November and December. Those pin codes were not part of the regular Fall Dining promotion and there was no general public fd code offered for any of those dates.

Thanks to everyone for the info! I do have a Disney Visa, so I should be set if they offer only the Disney Visa discounts. Here's to hoping for something good for mid-December
