I notice that on Ebay that there will be the occassional seller who will put a very high price on a reserved time at a DVC resort and absolutely won't budge off the price. I've watched many of them go unsold. Now I'm a business man and have been for 28 yrs so maybe I just tend to look at things differently but I would rather have SOMETHING rather than NOTHING. I realize that they have alot of money tied up in the points they used to reserve the room but come on.......are some people just that prideful? Maybe I don't fully understand how the DVC thing works but I thought that once you make the reservation that you couldn't cancel it. Help me understand.

As long as you cancel 31 days or more out, not a problem. Unless you are past your banking timeframe and won't be able to use the points in the time you have left.

I think it is just a way for them to "sell" thier points and make money. Maybe they have way to many points or they want to unload them on a set time of year.

Maybe they can use the reservation, and just testing the waters. For the right price, they would give it up.

From my experience with ebay , people tend to pay more then you can buy in the stores . At least from what I was looking for . I think it's cause people from outside the US it's cheaper for them idk. Maybe they are trying to just get more then , then know they could .

I am going to make a reservation at a popular DVC resort over a busy time of the year. Then i am going to put it up on ebay. Another member wants to go that time but can't get a reservation. Do you just give up, do you keep try year after year or do you go ahead and spend the high price to take the reservation i have on ebay.... It is nearly impossible to get a studio room at BLT over Christmas at the 7mo window, it is nearly impossible to get a studio over Christmas week after the 11mo window. It is not a "what were they thinking moment" it is a, lets see if i can sell my reservation for a huge profit. If i do yea, if i don't then we go on vacation... It is like having my cake and eating it too... Just think what it would be like to have that person as your parent, "daddy where is Sparky?". Oh he is gone, the neighbor offered me $100 for him....
