What Are They Serving On Planes These Days?

Hi Everyone!

I'm taking a 6am flight out of Providence, RI on Delta. I know that I won't get a meal on the plane, but, do they serve drinks? Do they charge for them?

Also, I'm planning on being there by 4:30am. The airport opens at 4am. Do I need a full two hours? I haven't flown in three years so everything about security and new airline procedures are new to me. Thanks for answering.

They do give free non alcoholic drinks on the plane. The last time I flew through Providence you checked in, then walked with the luggage to the scanner, then you went to security screening. Depending on the day of the week you might need that extra time.

Personally I would be sitting in a seat by the gates for a little while then worrying if I was going to get through security. Probably an hour and a half would be good.

Flying out of Providence early in the morning is the busiest time. I usually have 6 -6:30 flights and I get there around 4:30 to be safe. It's taken anywhere from .5 hours to 1.5 hours go get through security. All the airlines have early morning flights making it one of the busiest times of day there. That early in the morning you will be offered coffee, juice or water with no food.

Wear nice socks. The last couple times that I have flown, everyone had to take their shoes off and put them through the x-ray machine!

Our Delta Xpress flights give us Xpress mix . . .its like a Chex mix and they serve soda, juice, coffee . . .

I'd pack a bagel or something though . . .if they do give you the Xpress mix its a tiny little bag . . .
