What are they refurbishing at the Luna pool?

I read that the pool is/was/ closed for refurbishment. Anyone know what they are fixing up?

According to information over at DVCNews.com, the Keister Coaster slide will be closed from February 7 to March 16. The Luna pool will be open while the slide is worked on.

I called Member Services today, and the woman (THICK Japanese accent, tough to understand) said that she was unaware of a summer renovation at the Boardwalk. She mentioned the winter one and that was it. I am hoping she was right! It wouldn't be the WORST thing in the world to walk over to Stormalong Bay (if they let us use it), but I actually really enjoyed the evil clown pool.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took down the clown. Last time I was there, it was pretty faded.

Wow! Lots of refurbs on this pool! We were there Oct. 23-30 and it was also closed the entire week to be worked on. It was not something that was planned, and we heard a couple different stories in regards to what was going on. (broken slide--water was not clean enough) Who knows what the real reason was?? Anyway, we did have privileges all week at SAB and that was pretty nice.
Also, crowds this week were comparable to our trip in June, and it was not overly crowded at SAB. (And it was hotter than in June as well!) Hope that helps ease your mind.

We were at BWVs this time last year and the pool was closed. I was very happy though because we were allowed to use SAB!! Strange the Luna Park pool seems to be going through a lot of rehabs compared to the other pools but maybe it just seems that way.

That sounds like an error. Disney doesn't schedule pool maintenance during the warm weather months. Unexpected issues can arise--like the October issue some reported--but planned work is usually limited to January-April.
