Hi,

We noticed construction in the MK where they once had the 20,000 leagues under the sea ride. what are they going to build there? we rode dumbo just to see over the wall!!! the water area was all filled in and leveled and most of the cave was torn down.

any ideas?

We noticed the construction too and wondered about it...too bad the Skyway is gone, used to really show you construction areas....:sunny:

I know,,,,,you should have seen my DH riding Dumbo just to get a look over that wall!!! i think it was the first time he rode it since he was like 5 yo!!!!!

I thought I heard a while ago that someone thought it was going to be a Nemo attraction.

Then again, I don't have a very good memory!! Sorry!

I thought I read on these boards a character meet & greet.....

I have read on numerous sites that they are working on a "Finding Nemo" attraction. If true it should fit in great in Fantasy Land.

I thought Nemo was in Epcot? But, it would make more sense to put it in Fantasyland.......i dunno......

Nothing as far as type of attraction has been confirmed yet.

There is a Nemo display at the Living Sea's-- however it's not really a ride/attraction. At least I think it's more just a display.

When they initially started the work, all that was said was that it was going to be filled in and landscaped for possible future development. I doubt anything will be done to that area besides landscaping for a few years.

My husband asked a Cast Member last week, and he told us that they aren't building anything over there. He said that the men's locker room was under the area, and that they thought the structure underneath was suffering some damage, and that they were in the process of assessing the damage.

A very boring explanation. They've needed to do something with that space for years. Hopefully they will!

It's Fire Mountain (just kidding). I remember reading somewhere that they we thinking of putting a ride with a villian theme in it like a roller coaster.

The Nemo attraction at Living Seas consists of a metal sea scape sculpture outside the entrance--and inside they have a whole area with different aquariums of the real life fish that were portrayed in the movie--one tank had a bunch of "nemo's" and then one each of Peach, Bubbles (has a different name, but this is what my kids call him), the puffer fish, et cetera, there is a tank with manta rays, and tanks with other types of fish.

I have always thought living seas to be boring--but my kids LOOOOVED this place (the Nemo part) and I have to say I enjoyed it too.

Sorry--not related to the topic, just wanted to elaborate on this.

I thought I had read someplace that they were empyting the lake and filling it up. But not sure where I saw that or its validity.

Well....if they DON'T have any plans for this site, they sure could get some ideas from all of us....:chat:

I think they are going to bring everything up to ground level and landscape it for now. There was something about making the Character meet and greet a little nicer. But to me that's a waste of space. I want Fire Mountain. Aside from stitch encounter there hasn't been many worthwhile additions to the MK. For me epcot takes the cake with Test Track and Mission space.

Here's the Nemo sculpture.
