Okay I've never seen Tinker Bell at the parks and I've heard on here that no one else has either. So what's up with that exactly? I mean I wonder how Disney chooses which characters to ummm have show up at the park.

Someone said becasue she is small, she is a fairy but they have Perla and Suzy the mice from Cinderella and Jiminy Cricket albeit rare appearances from him. She is so endearing and my little DD3 LOVES her and is already talking about meeting her to hug her (awwwwww). I've been very careful to explain we are not sure who we will see (so she and her sister do not get too upset) and that it's very hard to see Tink b/c she is so small. Then I got thinking about all the other "small" characters and started thinking "hey what gives"????

Anyone else have theories, ideas, rumours about "Little Miss Attitiude"???

Doesn't Tinkerbell fly before the fireworks anymore? My DH and I watch the fireworks from different areas every year, but it seems like I remember Tickerbell flying from the top of the castle at the start of the fireworks. This was when I went as a child with my parents, and they always watched the fireworks from Main Street...

Well, for starters, they really need to keep a limit on how many people get sprinkled with Pixie Dust. I mean, they can't just having people flying all over the parks. Second, if you asked her to sign an autograph, the pen would knock her down.

You may see her flying over MK during Wishes and I have seen her in the latern with Peter Pan during the parade, but other than that, you won't get very close to her.

Also, look around on the boards for "waking up Tinkerbell"

You know, I honestly never have thought about it, but the "small" explanation doesn't hold water. Tink sure would be a big hit with the younguns... and probably with many Dads too ;)

So, if I wanted...I mean, if I wanted my DD, to catch a glimps of Tink during the fireworks, I should stand???? :wizard:

Last year we stood on the bridge to T-land and Tink flew right over us...very cool.

The last few times we saw wishes, Tink wasn't even there! We did catch her through the keyhole though!

The bridge between Tomorrow land and the castel is great, but in front of the Crystal Palace is my favorite spot--a beautiful view of Tink and Wishes. She was flying the week we were there in Feb. She misssed two nights when we there last summer--I told the kids even pixies need a few days off! ;)

My DD loves Tink too and would love to see her for a meet and greet - so far she has seen her fly during wishes and she got to Wake up Tink at Tinkerbell Treasures ( go there first thing when the park opens and ask to do this) Also at Tinkerbells Treasures there is a key hole that you can look through to catch a glimpse of the fairy :flower:

I guess that will have to do for now but I would love to see a meet and greet with Tink :flower2:

I second the Tomorrow land bridge. If she flies for WISHES, she'll come right over top of you. Another good Tinkerbell spot is the tables and lower walkway in front of the Plaza restaurant.

Tink waves the whole way down. Your daughter will have goosebumps.

Maybe they don't have a walkaround character of Tink b/c she flies. Can't you imagine all the kids who would walk up to her and ask her to fly? Maybe they want to keep her fairy status in high regard. I don't know. Just a theory.

I think maybe because she doesn't talk??? Does she talk at all in Peter pan? Maybe it would be weird to have a face character that doesn't say a word.

FYI- a direct to DVD movie called "The Tinkerbell Movie" is coming out in 2006.

I just think it couldn't be done well. The jingles, the pixie dust coming from her wand, no flying, and unable to communicate to children why she won't fly.

It's kind of like Lilo, could be a face character, but it's a child, so she's a costumed character, and HUGE so she's bigger than Stitch, and she freaks my son out.

The people posting about the tomorrow land brdige are correct... If you are on that bridge or the entry to that bridge or for that matter the kodak moments rose garden photo op site.... Tink will fly directly overhead.

LAst we went she passed directly overhead - glad she wasn't a pigeon

bummer about any of those sites is they are not the best vantage point to see spectromagic

Although Tinkerbell can be seen in Philharmagic and during wishes, the character is not a Disney invention. The Peter Pan tale was written by JM Barrie and my guess is that Disney pays royalties to use the image. Universal uses tink in Shrek and also recently made their own adaptation of the Peter Pan tale. This may explain why she is not seen more often.

But many other characters from Peter Pan are seen all over the park.

Actually, there have been many instances of Tinker Bell in the parks. She has been part of parades in both Disneyland and WDW (on roller skates, even!), has performed in shows, and has an approved meet & greet "persona." ;) Unfortunately, Tinker Bell requires "helpers" who are about 4 ft. tall and a size 0-2, with the appropriate build and personality. It's pretty tough to find the number of "helpers" Disney would need to keep Tink in the parks on a regular basis.

:earsboy:

DD wants to get a job at Disney as soon as she turns 18. I think she would make a great Tink. She's very petite. I have many neighbors who work at Disney who are in the marketing and casting divisions. I think I'll suggest it!

I just missed "seeing" her in the keyhole inTinkerbells Treasures. ;) She flew away before I could look!
