what are the special fastpasses?

Besides the rampant line cutting at DLR, I've noticed a lot of guests with special passes. These passes are about 2.5x larger than the normal pass. I've seen these on toy story mania more than anything else, but also most other rides. It clearly let's up to 6 people completely skip the line. No, its not a disabled pass of any kind. We've gotten a lot done withe the crowds, but these passes have been a thorn in our side, just because I'd like to know the circumstanves behind these secret passes (and no the people do not turn them in, they just show it to a CM and get on the ride).

I'm at the golden horseshoe now and a woman just gave one to the people behind us. Just said it let's you on this ride (don't know which one) with no wait. I bet whatever it is, its nontranferable haha. Crowds were light today until about 7, now its nuts!

If they don't turn them in, could they be VIP passes? I know the birthday fastpasses let 6 people use them, but I think those have to be turned in. I've never seen such a thing, but then I usually don't pay attention to the passes that the CMs accept when people get on the attraction.

When I was waiting for my Discover the Magic tour this weekend, I noticed people coming up to the area and getting things that looked exactly like fastpasses. Of course I didn't ask. Duh? I wonder what those were/are?

Tony!!!

1 demerit ;)

Without more information, even I'm stumped as to what it is? Can you tell what colour it is? Purple? Blue? Red?

Even VIP Tour Guests have to go through the normal line unless there are certain circumstances (in which case we would know they were coming way ahead of time).

The only people who I can think of who receive guranteed front-of-the-line access on every ride are children with the Make-a-Wish Foundation visiting the Parks as well celeberties/anyone else for whom there are safety concerns.

We saw those too. They has a number written in the lower right corner for how many were in your party. They just showed them to the CM. They look similar to the handicap passes but they were a bit bigger. I believe they were also blue.

ooooooohhhhhh, special fastpass, that sure sounds interesting. Can't wait to find out what they were.

We just got back and saw these as well. The one I remember most belonged to a teenage boy. I think it was blue. We were using our regular fastpasses and I could hear him bragging behind us to a few of his teenage friends that they could all get on, and sure enough, he and his four friends all got in the fastpass line, he just had to flash the card (not turn it in). I was wondering what is was, b/c I wanted one!

Then, I saw another woman with one such pass trying to use it on Nemo, but of course that line doesn't have a fastpass option, so the CM was explaining to her that she could only use it on fastpass rides?

"Celebrate" fastpass for your birthday???????????????

Yeah, I wonder if that's what they are. But if that's the case then the birthday fastpasses work differently than what we've all been hearing since it sounds like you don't hand anything over to the CMs. I wonder if they get unlimited use of FP on the FP's rides then. :confused3

Hmm....I think those are Guest Assistance Passes.

When Guests receive those at City Hall or the Guest Relations Lobby, the issuing Guest Relations Host or Hostess will stamp it with a mark indicating the type of assistance needed.

Among those stamps is one that provides Alternate Entrance to the Attraction. Attractions with FastPass entrances will use those, while those without may send Guests up the exit, among other options.

I can't think of anything else that would match the description and would be useable over at Toy Story Midway Mania. Cast Members do have passes that we can issue for Guest Service Recovery that provide Priority Attraction Access, but we can't issue them for TSMM at the moment since it's still a new Attraction.

Hmmm... each time I saw them being used, they went in the regular FastPass line, not the exit. Who knows!?!

In January, when we did the Walk in Walt's Footseps tour, there wasn't a parade that day, so in lieu they gave us a fastpass for each one in the party--but it was good for any ride, including Nemo and Peter Pan.

For annual pasport holders, there's also a birthday fastpass option, but the website doesn't spell it out specifically.

I don't think they are fastpasses of any kind, birthday or otherwise. We saw them as well, especially at TSMM......
