What are the options for a family of 5?

A friend of mine is thinking about booking and asked me where they can stay as a family of 5.

2 years ago, they stayed at Pop, but their smallest was only 1 then. He's now 3, so he'll be an official guest. They wouldn't mind keeping him in their bed, but will they allow him to sleep with them now that he is 3?

TIA!

there is only one value resort with suites to fit 5 people. I think its movie or music if my memory fits me right.

i thought the only resort besides villas to have 5- room is POR.. some rooms have a trundle bed.

We are also a family of 5.

We were told by a CM that our options are ASMU family Suites, POR, Poly, or a villa of some sort. Seeing as we are trying to do this on a budget we are in the process of deciding between ASMU family suites (costs a few hundred dollars more) or POR. I think we are leaning toward POR just for the pool. The CM really tried to sell us on a villa claiming POR would be a really tight fit and uncomfortable for our family. I think since its just a place to sleep for us, it will be fine.

5 can stay at any of the deluxes- not just the Poly(although those rooms seem a little bigger)

There are the FW cabins

Villas

ASMu family suites

Deluxe club level room (concierge) as either the WL or the Boardwalk.

Quite a variety of price points.- something for everyone I would say. My fingers are crossed that the Contemporary is building family suites where the north wing used to be(altough I know most are hoping for DVC)

The Family Suites at All Star Music will sleep up to 6 persons.

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms
-Cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

Deluxe Resorts that do 5 (ages 3 & above) are Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Other options include two connecting rooms at any resort
Renting DVC points
Fort Wilderness Cabins
All-Star Resorts Family Suite
Port Orleans Riverside in the Alligator Bayou
Staying Offsite

I *think* certain rooms (concierge?) sleep 5 also at Wilderness Lodge. I'm not sure about Boardwalk Inn.

I am almost positive that it is only 4 in the AK lodge. 5 in the wilderness lodge.
6 in either the Wilderness lodge or Boardwalk Inn concierge. (We are 6 and are booked at the BWI deluxe club)

I'm looking at the printed material, rooms at AKL are 2-5, depending on the room. Wilderness Lodge ends at 4 unless you go to a villa.

I've been doing some looking into this for my SIL/BIL (family of 5) who might be making a trip with us later this year.

For Value Resorts you have the Family Suites.

For Moderate Resorts you have POR - Alligator Bayou section which has a trundle bed.

For Deluxes you have (I'm listing the first type of room, they go up from there):
* WL - Deluxe Room
* AKL - Deluxe Room
* BC - Std. View
* BW - Std. View
* CR - Std. Room
* GF - Std. Room
* Poly - Std. Room
* YC - Std. Room

For DVC resorts you would need to get at least a one bedroom or up, the studios only sleep four.

And the FWC Cabins sleep 6.

Just an FYI:
AKL use to have "deluxe rooms " which slept 5 persons. Those rooms have been converted to DVC. If a family of 5 wishes to stay at an AK resort they will need to book a AK Villa.

I am looking at the printed material, BW sleeps 4 only. It should be 5 though with the daybed. :confused3 The 1 bedroom DVC resorts only sleep 4, a 2 bedroom will sleep 8.

Sorry, I goofed on the DVC studio room occupancy limit. The one bedrooms and studios do only sleep 4. I got my info off of another site that I'd be happy to pm anybody.
