What are the odds? How late do you change/cancel ADRs?

My husband and I battled back and forth between 50's PT and Sci Fi. I had booked Sci Fi for 7:10 then canceled it way back when being afraid we wouldn't be out in time for Fantasmic, plus we have a 3:35 MM Fantasmic package meal so I thought it would be too soon. Stupid me should have left it and we could have gone and had snacks or ice cream. I canceled that and booked 50's PT for 11am since Sci Fi had nothing. Of course now, they have availability at that time.

With only 3 weeks to go before our trip, what are the odds of someone canceling Sci Fi? Are most people from your experience done and settled with ADRs by now? Does anyone give up Sci Fi. Because now I want to get a 7pm or around there figuring we could do snacks or ice cream. Even if 50's PT opens up at that time I can take that than take Sci Fi in the am.

It's killing me because the one place DH wants to eat all trip is Sci Fi and of course he just makes this point to me a few days ago. But he also doesn't want to give up the Fantasmic Package or I'd just cancel MM. I thought I was done with this finally and my daily planning cards are redone and laminated for the 3rd time!!

Someone give me hope!

I'd say keep trying - even on day-of. You just never know if someone has to cancel their trip at the last minute or if someone changes their mind last minute.
