We were planning to come home from DL on Oct. 1st after 5 days in the park. I was thinking the Halloween Party would be the two nights a week during "Halloween time" (sept. 16th - oct 31)... I was reading the super thread and realized Halloween time last year was Sept 17-oct 31 but the party's didn't start until Oct. 1st.

Last year oct 1st was on Friday and the party's were Tuesdays and Fridays... This year Oct. 1st is a Saturday so do you think the party's would start on the Sept 30th?

Anyway...Have the actual party dates been released?

They haven't annouced the dates yet, probably won't for a couple months.

I would guess it will start on the 30th if they continue the Tuesday and Fridays for the party nights. It really grew in popularity last year and they might extend the period over which they do parties or do them more times a week. In WDW they do them for a longer period and more often so maybe DLR will decide to emulate that.

Last year the first mention of dates for the parties was in May so hopefully we only have a month or so more to wait!

Since you've already read the Superthread, make sure to subscribe and join us.:cool1:....or post questions in that thread for our panel of Halloween Time experts to tackle. We've already discussed possible party dates quite a bit there.

When any breaking news comes in, not only will be discussing it in the Halloween Suprthread, but I will be adding the current information to Page 1/Post 1, so it will always be easy to find.

My guess (from quite a while back) was that the party would begin on 9/30 this year. However, it could also begin on Friday, 10/7 - though I think that would be late. It could also begin on a Tuesday (10/4), but that would break tradition as DLR usually starts their Halloween parties on Friday nights.

If the party begins on 10/7, that would allow for 4 Friday night parties, but only 3 Tuesdays. Usually, there are 9 or 10 party nights in October, including Halloween night. So by that logic, at least one extra night would have to be thrown in somewhere.

So the start date would have to be something like Friday, 9/30 or Tuesday, 10/4.

The Halloween parties actually used to be held on different days/extra nights when they were held in California Adventure, at least for a couple of years. Fridays were always part of the deal, but there were other nights too. Some of us remember when there were extra Thursdays and even a Wednesday thrown in, leading up to Halloween. I think I even recall a Saturday thrown in the mix at some point in the last few years. The party was held in California Adventure up until last year.

Once the party moved to Disneyland, it was cut down to 2 nights a week and Halloween night. It is probably more difficult to manage too many party nights in Disneyland, because that would require closing the park earlier on more nights. I think it was easier to have the party on more/extra nights when the party was held in California Adventure and California Adventure closed early (pre-World of Color).
