What are the dates for spring break and

Easter week for 09? I know Easter is April 12th. Our anniversary(15 years!!) is the 16th. My daughter's 6th bday is in April and my middle son is May(always mother's day weekend).Hubby is May also!

I was about to really plan it out for Jan of 09 and then I realized April will be our anni.-soooo,I thought, maybe I could talk hubby into a short 4 or 5 day trip in Oct and then an 8 night or so trip in April!! But, I def. am looking for an off week! IF the whole month is gonna be packed, then I will stick with the original plan for Jan. We were there in May of 07 and it was really nice weather--heating up already--and the crowds were ok. I didn't realize so many public schools got out before Texas schools!!

Anyway, other April/May people jump in here!! What's your plan?

I think most of April will be busy. Many schools in New England and New York will have the week of the 18th for their spring break and the first weeks of the month obviously will be busy as well. It will not be until after the 26th that I think it will start getting slower.

I agree. We get "spring break" in March. I thought this last April would be quiet since Easter was in March too, so I took my kids out of school. Wrong! I went the week of April 19th when that NorthEastern spring break was on. (who knew?!) I've always been to WDW in off times so I was shocked by the crowds. There was an 80-minute wait for It's a Small World!

Now I'm considering May for next year ... hope the crowds are better

NYC public schools have their Spring Break for 2009 April 9 to April 19. Catholic schools usually have 1/2 days for the first 3 days of Holy Week then off completly from Holy Thursday to the end of the following week.
I will be taking my DD out of school for 3 days (April 6 -8) to give us a full 2 weeks . It is her Senior year and will have completed all her regents so no problem. We already have reservations at Ft. Widlerness for the 12 nights and hoping I can get the AAA discount when it comes out.

The week before April 12th and the week after will be the most busiest. Those are also the weeks you will not see any discounts for. While the rest will be slightly busy, nothing will compare to the 2 weeks surrounding Easter Sunday. There might be discounts during the other parts of the spring, but keep in mind that starting Prez weekend and until the Sunday after Easter Sunday, that timeframe will be PEAK season, which yields the some of the highest rates of the year. We always wait until the week after Easter before starting our spring vacation. I just booked my airfare for April 26 to May 8, now just waiting until September so I can book my DVC resort for 12 nights. Good luck! It stinks when your special dates fall during not great vacation times.

I have been wondering about this. I have social anxiety so I was trying to plan our trip after the Spring Break rush. I did some research on the net and found that most schools and colleges Spring Breaks end no later than the 28th ish. I'm glad I found this!!! My anxiety thanks you all.
