What are the chances? UPDATE page 2

Toiletries are not replaced every day. I think during a 10 day stay you have one full cleaning and 2 trash and towel services. They will replace toiletries then. They provide a little bit of coffee, creamer and sugar and you can purchase it in the resort gift shop. The coffee in the gift shop is decent too.

The main pool at the key west has an awesome slide. We were down there at the end of feb and we swam-no problem. Being from Ohio- we think 60 degrees is absolutely acceptable swimming weather! ;) plus the pools are heated.

You will LOVE the key west! We only have stayed in a studio there and it is really roomy!

Congratulations.:goodvibes You will love OKW.

It was the first DVC I stayed in. OKW have the largest rooms of all DVC. I love having a washer and dryer in the room. You will find most of the answer to your questions right here on the DIS. :surfweb:

A lot of us, eat breakfast in our rooms -even when on the DDP. It saves a lot of time. You will have dishes and a dish washer in the room. With little ones, I found keeping it simple in the morning and eating food similar to home started the day out right. An example, once I could not find OJ with out pulp any where on property. I had to drive to a grocery store to buy OJ because that was all my daughter drink in the morning.

Since you are staying on a points reservation you will get a full cleaning on day 4 and your trash removed and towels replaced on day 8. Consider your check in day as Day 1. The rest of the time, the housekeepers won't even enter your villa. With a two bedroom villa, you will have eight bath towels, four hand towels and eight face cloths. Each bathing area will have shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. So in the master bathroom, you'll have two sets of each because you'll have a stand alone shower and a separate jacuzzi tub. And then you'll get another set in the second bedroom bathroom. If you like your beds made, guess, what, you'll have to make them yourself - except on day 4. The housekeepers will do that.

You'll get one filtered pack of coffee in your kitchen. If you have a lockoff, you'll get a second pack in the kitchenette. Otherwise, bring your own coffee and flat bottomed filters. Also sugar, creamer, salt, pepper. You'll get a single use box of Tide for the washer each time the housekeepers come in, but you'll need more so bring some from home. Also fabric softener or softener sheets if you use them.

See if a dedicated is available instead of a lockoff. Otherwise, the second bedroom will have another exit to the outside, and another kitchenette. But still have two queen beds.

You will never be able to go back to Pop Century after this.

We were just at OKW about two weeks ago, me, husband, 17 yr old son and my husband's running buddy for the marathon. We were in a one bedroom and a two bedroom would have been wonderful. YOU HAVE A TWO BEDROOM!!! You will have three televisions. THREE!!

One or two drawbacks for you - no elevators. You'll have to take stairs unless you get a first floor villa. Second, no food court. Goods to Go is a small counter service by the main pool, and they do have a few breakfast items, but it isn't much. If you find any problems in your villa, call Housekeeping or Maintenance and tell them the problem. Ask them when they will be by to resolve it. Don't both with the front desk until it doesn't get resolved after several calls.

If you have your own car, head to Publix and stock up on the breakfast stuff and such that your kids will like. And your own sodas. Forget about the refillable mug because it just isn't convenient at OKW.

You can buy your tickets at the desk at OKW or at Guest Services at the parks.

Enjoy your stay. You scored BIG!!:thumbsup2:cheer2:

Thank you again! I truly appreciate your help.

So when we check in on arrival(do you recommend online check in?) can we then request a dedicated since I would be quite nervous knowing that the kids in the second bedroom would have their own exit?

Do the room cards act the same as a KTTW card? I know we can add on our tickets when we get there, and have them put onto our room cards- but do the cards have charging privileges?

Does check out work the same- pay off our KTTW card and we are on our way

Will concierge be able to check us into our flight and print boarding passes for us like the other resorts do?

Ask your aunt if she will call Member Services and request a dedicated. And ask when you get there.

Room keys are your KTTW. They can add your tickets and you can request charging or no charging on any of them. You can give them a credit card when you check in and they will charge your expenses to the card.

They do have the airline check in at OKW. If you are doing Magical Express, make sure they know you are now staying at OKW instead of Pop.

Does your copy of the reservation that was mailed or emailed say "2 bedroom dedicated" or "2 bedroom lockoff" on it? Usually now they always say one or the other. If your Aunt does have to call back, ask her to check if they have a 2 bedroom dedicated by the the Hospitality house. This is where the main pool, dining, and guest relations is and all these buildings have been refurbished already

I'd recommend online check-in as it can speed things up a bit when you get there. For me, it's just one more thing that makes me feel like I'm 'almost' on vacation even before I get there. :rotfl: I'm already checked-in - I must be on vacation!

Traveling with a family, you will love having the extra room of an OKW 2BR but it will be hard to not get spoiled.

As others have recommended, have your Aunt call and get the request in for a dedicated 2BR. That's probably the most important thing.

Don't forget that you can take the boat to Downtown Disney. That's a fun, free thing to do.

Give your Aunt a big hug and have a great trip!

do you all recommend online check in?

If you want to make a request for a dedicated, don't do online check in. That is supposed to stream line the check in process. If you want to spend a little more time with the CM check in, don't do on line check in.

thank you! I am thinking a renovated, dedicated near HH would be perfect- lol think thats too much to ask for? Ground floor would be nice too so we wouldnt have to carry the 2 strollers up the stairs day in and out

Yes, I think that is too much to ask for!!! :rotfl: Don't get your hopes too narrow. Each request narrows the pool of potentially available rooms.
Usually one or two requests is best. Put them in the order most important to you. So I think dedicated is your first request. And then decide is first floor more important than near HH? Or is renovated more important?
I suggest you narrow it down and then enjoy. Whatever you get will be magical.
Have a Great Trip.

This is most certainly true! Frequently, depending on when you travel, there's some flexibility CMs have at check in. I'll stand in line a little longer to get the third floor, or the building I'd prefer, or not building 29 at OKW, etc.

perfect- no online check in then- ok what are the try NOT to stay in these bldg buildings?

It's just personal preference - like some have a location preference (I love the Turtle Pond area; others detest it) or a view preference or a floor preference (I like the view from up high and will climb the stairs to get them!). You are going to have a great time, and I can't wait to hear about it. :cool2:

Oh yes, building 29 is where you DO NOT want to be. That's where we were last May, luckily we weren't there that long and luckily we've visited friends on Turtle Pond to know that there are better "views" than overgrown vegetation. We were just so excited to be there that I didn't realize it was THAT building 29 until we stood in front of the building.

So funny! I actually am requesting bldg 27, 28 or 29 because we loved bldg 26. We don't have HH designation on our next trip but we liked the location and I loved the "privacy" of the porch. :lovestruc I could sit there with my book and watch the world go by (walkers and boats) but have privacy.

Each to his own :rotfl:

Well, in building 29, you don't see anything except vegetation. Our studio balcony was overgrown with tree branches and couldn't even see the ground for the vegetation. I would have loved to have a little glimpse of the street, golf course or any large body of water. My DH said if he parted the branches he could see another balcony;) But really, we weren't in the room except to sleep.
