What are the chances of exchanging MVMCP tickets?

Wouldn't you know it? I bought tickets for the 12/10 MVMCP back in August. Today DD comes home and tells me that her choir performance is that night and attendance is mandatory. If she doesn't attend, she gets a failing grade. I wish these teachers would realize that there is life out of school and gives us some advance notice.

I need to try to exchange the tickets for another night. I know that 12/17 is sold out. I really wanted Friday night tickets, but may have to settle for something else. So much for advance planning!

Explain to the teacher either on the phone or face to face and state that you were not given any advanced notice. You already bought the tickets. If he will not then go to the principle.

Peg, I have seen many times here of persons cancelling for refunds, Disney is good. Come on the 30th or the 7th. :teeth:

We changed our tickets. We went in 2002. We had tickets for a Tuesday, but that year in was a very rainy December. The night of our party was forcasted for heavy rain all day. I went to city hall and asked to change the date, As long as the party is not sold out, we were told it was ok.

I was glad I did, since it did rain heavily all that night. We went on a Sunday and the weather was nicer.

I hope it works out for you. This year we are going 12/5.

I'm sure they will try to help you.::yes:: :wave2:

We must have been there the same week that year because we did the exact same thing. Had tickets for the Tuesday and exchanged them for Sunday because of the forecast. Like you I was very happy we did!

Oh and we'll be there this year on 12/5 too! Can't wait.

I went to DTD and explained the situation to Guest Services. They changed the tickets to 12/3. That works well for us. We have guests coming to town for Christmas and New Years, so those dates were out. The CM was very nice! Thanks for all your good wishes!

SAme thing happened to me last year where i needed to change the tickets. I called disney and they said MVMCP tickets are not exchangable or refundable and that there was nothing they can do ... over 100 bucks down the drain

I think your chance of an exchange is pretty good. I called the ticketing office on Friday (11/19) to see if I could get a refund on an extra MVMCP ticket. After holding for 15 minutes I took them up on their offer to leave a message for callback.

Today I had a message on my machine from them...
I should return the tickets to the address on the letter the tix came with (P O Box 10140). I should include the expiration date of the card they were purchased with and a brief paragraph about why they were being returned.

They said it may take up to two billing cycles to see the refund, but it would show up.

I know others have had similar experiences. If the exchange doesn't work you could return and purchase separately.

Good luck.

I'm glad your exchange worked out well! My BIL was supposed to be traveling with us this coming trip and had to cancel last month -- AFTER I had purchased our MVMCP. I called Disney ticketing and they said that although tickets are nonrefundable, they would do a refund for me. I mailed them off immediately and the credit appeared on my credit card within 3 weeks.

That drives me crazy that disney is not consistant. The same thing happened to me where i had 2 extra tickets and i couldnt turn them. I spoke to more than one person and they said there was nothing they could do... now i hear many people have done this. just venting lol!!!

WOW! I have four extra tickets that I purchased for a friend. (I bought 8 total) I would love to be able to get my money back. What are the names of the wonderful people that let you return them???? Oh well, I've pretty much resigned myself to going twice. I'll exchange the tickets for a different date when we get there. I'll just have to get through it somehow. ;) ::yes::

Wow!!! It is nice to hear that Disney is issuing refunds for these. In 2002, we went to WDW with my 1 yr old DD. We had heard on the news that the Norwalk Virus was on the Disney cruise ships...we didn't stop to think it would be invading the parks as well. Well...my DD ended up taking a "grand tour" of Fl. hospitals (the first hospital was unsure of their ability to treat her, so we were transferred to a ped. hospital across town. I don't remember the names, because I had the virus as well, although I was able to fight it better than her) for the last few days of our trip.

I wrote many letters to Disney asking, that in light of extenuating circumstances (which they knew about, but were not warning people), that we please be issued refunds for our MVMCP tickets...that is all I was asking for. Disney was very rude, and said that if I had any unpaid medical bills (which I did not think I would have at the time....they did, however come in several months later), I could file a claim thru their legal dept, but that MVMCP tickets were "non-refundable".

Oh well...dd was fine, and believe it or not...she still plays with the "pictures" on the tickets. She has added them to the wallet in her purse...not exactly the Christmas present we had in mind...but hey, whatever works!!!

I am VERY happy that Disney may be accomodating guests with conflicts now...I think that should be the policy!!
