What are SWA discount codes anyway?

Saw posted on another thread about how they were waiting for January discount codes to come out. Also, when I visit SWA's website, there is a spot for discount codes to be entered. What are they and how do I get one? Thanks

southwest has not had a promotional code in quite a while....

usually when it does come out it is "targeted" at a segment of their clientele

more recently the code could be used only once ( last year the code was useable by anyone if you had it )

swa vacations offers 10% off if you have the "promotion" code from their SWA snak boxes which they give out on longer flights...

Last I saw this was in '03....we flew in August and the code was 15% off....it was sweet and we rec'd the code thru a postcard w/our FF account.
Sure would love another one!
