What Are Some Of Your WDW Traditions

We have started creating a few traditions:
We like spending an afternoon at the Grand Floridian & having afternoon tea there.
We like having our last night dinner at Cinderella's Royal table & spend the last evening watching the parade & fireworks. We always have to wipe a tear away with that last look at the castle.
Last time we were in the Fantasia bldg at All Star Movies & we made it a tradition that trip to stop & kiss every time we went under the big sorcerer Mickey's hat. 5 days........ I hope we get to repeat that tradition again. :love2:

We always see Fantasmic on our last night there....

We drive in from Tampa and always have a "contest" to see who is the first to spot the Mickey Head that carries the power lines at the exit. My DD8 always "wins"

I'm having a great time reading these traditons some of which I wish we would have done, like take picture of family in same spot each year to see the changes year to year.

We have dinner at Boma, preceeded by a Victoria Falls cocktail or two. We also eat at Marrakesh and have a chocolate soda at Ghiradelli's. And we always to to MK first and walk through the Castle.

My husband and I always right the big ball at Epcot (Spaceship Earth) - it's our favorite at our favorite park.

At MK, I have to ride Haunted mansion and he loves Pirates.

I want to start taking pics at the same place every time and see how it changes - great idea.

1. starting our vacation at MK
2. taking pictures in front of the castle
3. Mickey head ice creams each day
4. smoked turkey legs
5. can't miss Fantasmic
6. buy a Christmas ornament in DTD Christmas Shop
7. eat at McDonalds in DTD (we always get the swirled ice cream cones)
8. take pictures with the lego sculptures in DTD

I'm sure we have more, but that's all I can think of right now.

We always take a picture of our daughter in front of the fountain behind Cinderella's Castle.

We always go to a charater breakfast.

Each time we go, one of us (DH, DD or me) pick where we go and what we do first. It's DD daughter's turn next.

We take every form of transportation-bus, boat, monorail.

AND we always have a fantastic time!

We always ride the monorail around the Magic Kingdom loop on our first night at WDW, stopping at the entrance of the MK to take a picture with the landscaping and train station in the background.

We always ride Pirates of the Caribbean first thing in the Magic Kingdom.

We always have our last dinner at the California Grill.

Breakfast at CP on our first full day at MK, a trip to Marrakesh for lunch and our last night's dinner is always at Teppanyaki.

We always spent our very first (unofficial) night off site. Usually at the Doubletree Castle just off Internation Drive. We do dinner at Cafe TuTu Tango and then head to Downtown Disney.

The next morning we check into our resort bright and early and either have breakfast as Cindys or lunch.. depending on how we are feeling at that PS calling date. We also have dinner at Chef Mickeys our first night. It just wouldn't be the same without doing those things.

Breakfast at the castle and Chef Mickey's, The Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain at least 10 times, Splash Mountain, Coral Reef for lunch, San Angel or dinner and IllumiNations. These are cornerstones for each trip.

Also on the first night we always have a drink at the Contemporary on the 4th floor over looking Bay Lake, The Outer Rim.

We always stay at FW, we arrive around 3-4:00 in the afternoon, after we check in and set everything up, we walk down to the marina, into the sand and just stand there, only then do we feel like we have arrived. We usually stay in loop 100 so its not a long walk, we then go to the camp store, and then to top the evening off we have dinner in the Trails End Buffet. We have done this every time. Our first park for some reason is the MK, 2nd park is Epcot, then MGM, then AK. First ride is always POTC!

Our tradition starts as soon as we get on Hwy 4 - we start looking for "Disney Sign" - the first billboard advertising Disney - and then we take a picture of it. The picture is always horrible - but it is fun. Thankfully it is a digital camera so nothing much is lost - yet we always seem to print the "Disney Sign" picture anyways...

Our first park is always EPCOT and our first (and last) ride of each trip is always Spaceship Earth. It is a good thing the ride is dark - I always tear up as SE starts. We all 3 sit in one car - DD in the middle - my husband puts his arm around both of us and the vacation begins. As we climb that first hill and the music starts it is like we leave reality behind for a little while it is always great. I can't wait to do it again - very soon!

We always drive from Texas and that first Disney sign IS awesome. :)

Every year we take a picture of DD on the ant in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. I plan to make a collage someday - we started at age 2 and will have #10 this year. I have made her promise to keep doing this until she is 18. :)

We are hoping that this trip will be the start of many new traditions. We are going to HDDR our first night. We are also planning MVMCP one night.

This will be our first trip with DD 2 1/2, so we are going to let her set the tone for our future traditions. I haven't shared with DH, but I hope to go at least every other year from here on out, but I would really like to get AP and go every year. We'll just have to see.

I will try to remember some of your traditions to incorporate into our plans.

A somewhat quirky tradition of ours is to finish our last night of the trip at Fantasia Gardens playing the tough miniature golf course and hearing Fantasmic (and seeing some of the few higher shot fireworks / lasers) while we play.

Great thread!

We arrive in the afternoon and after checking in we head to DTD. Our 1st full day is spent in MK with our dinner being at Chef Mickey's.
