Was that taken as RAW? I bet a little post processing could pull out what you're looking for.
Hopefully you won't be offended but I took the liberty of playing around with that in Lightroom for a few minutes... Couldn't quite get the eyes to really "pop" as much as I wanted though... I did an auto-tone and then dialed down the whiteness but pumped the highlights and a little contrast. Also saturated the colors a bit more.No unfortunately I shot the whole frigging trip in .jpeg.Though I'm sure I could play with it.

I like to think that my most recent pictures are some of the best I have ever taken. That's because my photography skills, artistic eye, and post-processing skills are all improving. For example, there is no way a picture I took even a year ago would be as good as this recent one from Tower of Terror.
