What are people listing for isolation plans on Arrive Can?

I am going on an Alaskan cruise this summer and although I know testing will be random on return, we need to provide an isolation plan. I live on the east coast and flying home the day we get off. Do we put our home address or a hotel in Vancouver? This is already stressing me out even though we don’t sail until August.

Oh man I never even thought of that yet! I think since I’m my province there is no isolation technically required anymore. They recommend 5 days but it’s not a rule. You can go out and about with covid here now. I have no clue what I would do In your situation, but like the poster above said I think putting your home is fine.

Just put your home.
My worry is if they would question how I would get to my home in the other side of Canada. You can’t fly if positive. With so many travelling and planning to travel, hopefully the forms will become more a formality for those fully vaccinated,

Ah, so you are embarking from Vancouver?

I honestly wouldn't worry about it right now. What the rules are today could be different tomorrow and rather likely to be different by summer. ArriveCan asks you a series of questions that you tick off boxes. Your home is an acceptable quarantine plan for the app to give you the receipt. That said, I have only entered via air. The questions start with how you are entering the country...land/air/sea. The questions might be different for entry via sea. Read the gov website that explains all this...then read it again.

As to what your home province requires.....that does not apply to travel. The travel restrictions/rules are Federal and supersedes the provinces. For example....currently my province has no mask mandate. However, if I travel outside of Canada I am required by the Feds to wear a mask in all indoor and outdoor settings for 14 days after after my return to the country.

Oh no, I didnt follow that last rule 🤯😂 I'm sure nobody is, and it's very buried on the website.

My previous trips I would wear a mask around people when I returned. But I got Covid 2 months ago, so not worried about it anymore.

It’s a very buried rule I only just learned about it myself last week!

Could you rent a car and drive home and quarantine at home?

We crossed over in Detroit last week and a few days later received an email from the Government of Canada saying:
"
IF YOU:
  • Were NOT randomly selected to complete COVID-19 molecular testing
THEN, YOU MUST:
  • for the 14 days after you entered Canada, monitor yourself for symptoms of COVID-19; and
  • maintain a list of the names and contact information of every person you have come into close contact with during the 14-day period AND all of the places you have been
So nothing about masking for 14 days. 🤷‍♀️

Arrival tests

Upon your entry to Canada by air or at a land border crossing, the border services officer may notify you that you’ve been randomly selected for a mandatory arrival test.

As a fully vaccinated traveller, you can travel to your destination, including on connecting flights, without waiting for your arrival test results (if selected for testing).

So I would list your home as your quarantine plan since you would be allowed to continue to travel home since you wouldn't have your results yet from the PCR test randomly taken at the border.

There are a few Canadians on the cruise group and one who seems to be very concerned and who are making me nervous.

i live about 7000 kms away. . But I have done it before when I moved from Vancouver Island to the East Coast. Someone else drove however.
