SO I would really like to go to Disney the week of Dec 5 - 10 but when I called DVC Member Services there was absolutely no studios or one bed rooms for that week. When I called the first time I was looking for a specific resort to which the guy told me he could only book 2 of the 5 days. So i called a second time with a better plan of when I wanted to do and i figure I would just go down in order of the resorts I wanted to stay and hopefully get something that week. But the second rep said there was nothing available at any of the 7 DVC resorts for that week. The 2nd rep said it was the one of the busiest times of the year. So I guess my questions are is it really that busy the 2nd week of December? If I call back everyday do you think anything will open up for that week? And is there any other advice or tips you can give me that will help getting a room?
thanks for your help

Yes, early December is an extremely high demand time for DVC bookings. The point schedule is very low and all the holiday decorations are in place. :santa:

You could put yourself on a waitlist for SSR or OKW to have the best shot at a room. But even then it's a bit of a long shot. Any reservations between Thanksgiving and the end of the year really need to be made at the 11 month window.

Is it just DVC Rooms that are hard to get? I read that its one the the lowest time for attendance. Will it be just as hard to get a regular room and pay for it somewhere else on property?

Yes it is DVC that is busy- the points are very low, holiday decorations are up, the parks are fairly uncrowded- making it the best value at DVC. Getting a regular room on property shouldn't be hard except for the resort where the pop warner teams are going to stay for their tournament.

I would suggest waitlisting a studio and a 1 bedroom at SSR- it is your best possibility of getting on property for that time (since it is the largest resort). Then if you really want to be there at that time book a cash room through Disney and you can always cancel it if your waitlist comes through.

The DVC points are really low during the first two weeks of December. Also the yearly association meeting is held for the DVC. Combined with Holiday decorations, and filming of the Christmas festivities on Main Street at MK the DVC resorts are packed.

According to "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" The week after Thanksgiving until the week before Christmas is the least busiest time in the parks. So I would think that you would have a good chance for a room at a regular Disney resort. Good luck.

It used to be low attendance but everyone listened and now it's busy.

I would try to book whatever I could and WL for the rest of the days. If you can get 2 or 3 days together and then WL for the rest you will probably stand a better chance than doing a WL for the whole time.
If you can get the whole trip with one change of resorts that would be the best way to start and then you could WL for the days you need to make it all at one resort. Just make certain the CM you talk to understands what you are trying to do.
