What are my chances?

My DH would not agree to the 160 buy-in a couple of weeks ago but did agree to the 100 point buy-in so we went ahead. We signed the paper 15 days ago and today he woke up and said do you think it is too late to change to the 160 points with matching developer points? So I called and apparently we closed two days ago. So my guide is checking to see if we can add on the 60 and still get the developer points. What do you think the chances are of getting the 160 developer points? We will not add on right now if we don't get them.

Still haven't heard anything from my guide, looks like I will have to wait till Monday to find out. Anybody out there that can calm my nerves? :worried: I really want them to allow us to change.

You might still have a chance. Based upon current evidence, sales have slowed and the purchase price of buying resale continues to slide. We are going to be in a world of hurt for some time to come so I am sure that they want to sell you more points.

Thanks for the reply! Here's to hoping!

Guides don't necessarily have weekends off so you still might hear over the weekend. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they do let you add the 60 and give you the points - good luck!

Good luck, and here's some extra pixie dust!!! pixiedust:

Also, if they process it as an add-on, that will be great. You'll have a 60 pt and a 100 pt contract, which will give you more flexibility if you ever decide to sell. It will also help you fetch a higher price per point! :thumbsup2

I'm amazed your closing happened so quickly. Just curious, is there anyway to find out when you close? Does DVC send an email? Can you call MS? It's been about three weeks for us and would love to know if we are "Official DVC Members".

Thanks,
Dennis-

You may have closed and you don't even know it. I was shocked when I called and he said that it had already closed. It had only been a little over a week since they received the paperwork. We did not finance though, so that may have made it go a little faster. Too fast as far as I am concerned because I couldn't change the # of points. :( But maybe Disney will come through and we will still be able to. We did get copies of our paperwork in the mail yesterday too, so maybe you will get that after you close as well.

Closing is no big deal. All it means is that you paid and that your paperwork is complete. If you buy from DVD, as soon as you pay a deposit you are Members. Some get their points the next day and they haven't even signed their paperwork yet. The transaction still needs to be recorded with the county clerk and that can take awhile. After the recording you will receive a copy of the recorded title documents.
