What are my chances ya think??

Hey everyone

We are planning a vacation to wdw flying out on Dec 31st. My husband just changed jobs and we can leave a day earlier. What do u think our chances are of getting a studio room on the wait list? We are booked at ssr fopr the remainder of our trip but trying to get an extra night. Any thoughts or suggestions? We thought about staying at the hyatt and than taking magical express the next morning to our resort. Thanks in advance

I was gonna recommend that you try Value or local hotel. We do that alot if we add on an extra day, Being thats it NYE pretty slim for DVC...But heres some to help ya out...Shawn

I would say not good. Most people will tell you that New Year's Eve has the highest demand of the entire year. DVC used to use a lottery system to determine who would be able to book rooms for that night.

Call Ms and see if they have an SSR studio available for cash - if yes, then you wouldn't even have to change rooms.

If none are available, try calling CRO. You might have to change rooms, but at least you wouldn't have to change resorts.

The 30th will be easier to get than the 31st, so you have a chance. Good luck

If nothing is available book a value or something else and waitlist it. You never know what might come through.

Have a back up plan, but call several times toward the end of December, especially within the last 7 days since you won't be on a waitlist at that point (I think they drop you at 30 days or 7 days). You never know, someone may have to cancel at the last minute. Good luck!

I agree with Sunshine that you should have a backup plan. Reserve a room with no cancellation penalty as long as you cancel 24 hours in advance.
