Initially booked POR standard view with an emailed code 3-14 thru 3-17. Just recently decided to add Sunday the 13th and since my code had expired I grabbed a garden view (no standard available) at the spring code. I really don't want to have to move once we get there and I'm checking the website every day for a possible standard to pop up, but getting nothing. I'd even be willing to pay the garden view rate for a standard if they don't make me move. What do you think my chances are? :guilty:

Your chances are better if you call and get a Cm to straighten this out. Sooner the better.

Oh I've tried that already, the CMs were useless! Nothing like back in the day when I just LOVED calling to make my reservation and they would strike up a Disney conversation with you and make you so excited about getting there, and you could hear all the other CMs in the background helping other people. Now I keep getting young men (boys) who take FOREVER and sound like they are by themselves (no background noise). And I'm the one suggesting the different ways they can check to see what could work. The last one said it's better just to keep checking online because they see the exact same screen we see online? :sad2:

Well, that part is true. They can't make a room appear out of thin air. Its less than a month out and during a very busy time of year. I'm not surprised there isn't a singleton night available. And since the place is going to be full, or close to it, I think your chance of not having to move is slim. But keep looking. It's still possible that someone with a standard room only reservation might cancel.

I just checked on My disney experience and it shows standard POR available from Mar 13 - 17.

Odds are not good because there is so little available. However, as long as there is any availability there is some hope. Perhaps when you get there they may let you stay in a standard room the entire time. Meanwhile, keep checking. You may get lucky ad get it straightened out.

If not, worst case scenario is you have to move. pack your overnight bag with one night's necessities and don't unpack. The next day move and settle in for the rest of your stay. Not ideal, but we've done it a few times and it's not really all that bad.

Good luck!

Well I got it! Kept checking online every day and finally this morning standard became available at the spring rate so I switched the Garden View for the Standard thinking it would be easier to connect to my original UOC Standard room. Then just for the heck of it I tried to modify my original UOC reservation again and add a day, and this time it let me! So in the end I WAS able to add a day at the initial code rate even though it expired the end of January. Never be afraid to try, and keep on trying. :surfweb::thumbsup2

I'm glad you could make your changes, OP! we booked under the spring code, but found the room type we prefer open up after booking. it was super easy to modify our reservation--I don't remember it being nearly so easy for last trips.

Well, for this you can thank the new noise reducing headphones. They may still be in a room full of other operators but with the new, modern equipment you'd never know it on your end.
