What are my chances of getting my choice of rooms at OKW if I check in early...

We've always found the immediately available rooms acceptable and meeting all our requests. We've never waited and have always been satisfied.

Last year, we checked in around noon and didn't get a room until after 5 pm. I called several times and told them I'd take anything as long as it was N/S. No luck. Didn't get in until about 5:15 pm at OKW.

MermaidJan.....glad u got your room early !!! I just got my room early (10:30 am) at VWL this week. They told me it was a ground floor (in a tone like it was a bad thing)? I was really pleased to get right in and totally fine with a ground floor. The patio was a little overgrown with plants/vines/vegetation, but it was ok for me.

Let us know what you think of building 28. I stayed there once and found the room to be dark because of all the trees surrounding the porch and building.

I liked it because it was easy walking distance to the main pool. But there was no view to speak about what so ever. It was dark and the balcony's view was just the back of the other buildings.

But view is usually not important to me. I am more concerned about location of the pool, shopping, food and the bus stop.

I wasn't that crazy about the OKW theme. MY DS (3) loved the pool. My DH (39) hated that the bar was so small. Only about 7 people can fit in it at a time. Everything was closed by 10:30 pm.

I would give OKW 3 out of 5 stars. ***

We are City People/Night people so we like the bustle & energy of the Boardwalk area better. As soon as I can afford more point I am buying into the BWV.

We have been members for nearly 10 years and have stayed at OKW more times than I can remember, and I have NEVER been given a choice! Could that be because I request Non-smoking for medical reasons?

I am with you. I have never been given a choice. It really bothers me that this happens all the time. It is rare that I even get my room before 4:30. I plan on calling my guide to see what she can do.

We have been 7 times in the past 7 years always over Christmas, checking at various times. My request were non smoking top floor. I would always tell the CM that I did NOT need to be near the main house or pool and my request has been honored every time.
With so many buildings they have a lot to choose from. Some have been better than others, but they were all fine for our needs.
