I have put in a request for the Marriot Ko Olina on Oahu for 6/13-8/1 2008 either 1BR or studio what do you think are the chances of getting it?

Don't know but wish you a lot of luck.

You're early right now - most Marriott owners won't deposit their weeks with II until 12 months before check in or less. I'm a single resort Marriott owner and I'm allowed to make my reservations at 12 months before check in and then deposit my week with II.

I think your chance for a studio/efficiency is VERY good. Those are always the last to get booked because most timeshare exchangers want the bigger units.

I'd agree your chances for a studio are good and for a 1 BR poor or less. Your best bet would likely be to find someone who owns there and trade less points than through II for the studio or trade around 160 points for the 1 BR. The current inventory on II's website for this summer is through Mid May and picks up again Mid Sept through mid Dec with only studios listed. There was a 2 BR for later this month there last night but it is now gone.

I agree that you have a much better chance of getting a studio than a one bedroom. Wishing you good luck. We just got back from Ko Olina and loved it!

I am also a Marriott owner. (We own three Marriotts in addition to Disney.) I think you have a good chance of getting the 1 bedroom by requesting this far out. Ko Olina is a large property. If you wanted a 2 bedroom, your chances would be poor, but MANY owners lock-off and trade one side or the other. The studio would most likely come through first so I would hold out for the 1 bedroom until 5-6 months out and then accept a studio. One of the prior posters is correct - we can not reserve until 12 months prior to check in for single week owners and 13 months prior for multiple week owners. The first opportunity for you to get a trade would be in May '07 if requesting for June '08.

I also think that Disney is a strong trader, so that should help as well.

We have stayed at the Ihilani next door (we own at the Maui Ocean Club) and have walked over to the Ko Olina and looked at the models. It is a beautiful property. The lagoons are really nice for swimming. I got up early one morning and snorkeled before breakfast. I had the pleasure of swimming with 4 large sea turtles! It was just me and the turtles.:goodvibes Not lots of choices for restaurants on site. A car is a necessity. There is so much to do on Oahu besides going to Waikiki Beach.

Good luck with your trade.
