Hi there! Wondering what crowds are like now that HP has been open for a few months. Trying to decide on FOL pass. I think we will end up there on Monday, August 22nd. Can I have your opinions on the necessity of it that day?

Am wondering this too, as we will be there a week later, most likely Tuesday August 30th.

We were just there on Sunday, July 17. We had early entry at 7:00 am, which you can get if you purchase the tickets on USH website and commit to a specific day. We spent the first hour at HP, and it was great. Low crowd. We rode Forbidden Journey twice in a row with maybe a total of 15-20 wait time. Flight of the Hippogriff was a walk on, but that ride is a bit of a let down since it's over in less than 20 seconds or so.

Rode Simpsons around 8:00, and only waited maybe 5 minutes. Then moved on to the lower area and rode Transformers once, Mummy three times, and Jurassic Park twice. These were all pretty much walk ons until about 9:30.

We then did some other things, including Studio Tour and Walking Dead, before returning to HP around 12:30. Totally different experience at this point. It was absolutely swarming with people! And it was starting to get pretty hot, which always makes huge crowds seem worse. Forbidden Journey was 70 min wait time, Hippogriff was 55 min, and even the wand shop had a 40 min wait to get in. Even the Butterbeer lines were 15-20 minutes.

At around 1:30 we fought our way through the sea of people to get to the exit. We then continued on to our next destination, which was Disneyland.

Just make sure to get there early. You will enjoy it so much more if you do.

I complete agree with Sith. Get there early - at opening! It is such a much more pleasant expereince. My dd (15) and I can get through HP (no crowds great photo time) and most of the other rides with little to no wait and be done with the park by 1. This doesn't include shows as we have seen them all. If wanted to do the shows I'd say keep those for the afternoon. For some reason this park stays really empty until around noon when it gets too crazy for my tastes.

Thanks so much for the info! I've heard that WWoHP quiets down at the end of the day? Since everyone hits it when they first arrive? Is there any truth in that? We did buy our passes online, which will get us the early entry. But Forbidden Journey is a wild ride and I fear my tummy won't be the same for the rest of the day after that and will mess me up for all the other rides! LOL!
