What and when is your next vacation

So, @low-key, you've asked most people where they're staying. What about you? Where are you staying & what do you plan to do?

hey staying at the luxor, I try and get another hotel every trip, my routine is, wake up, relax a bit in the room, go get a big breakfast, look around a bit, pool time, in afternoon we will decide what show to see in the evening, get to dinner, then show, have some fun in vegas at night, go to room and watch some tv lol and do it again the next day. I am meeting up with some I met online, we both like vegas and meet up there often

That sounds like my kind of trip. :cloud9: We're very laid back on vacation. DH likes to gamble, but I don't. The one time we went to LV many years ago we stayed at Caesar's Palace. I browsed the forum shops, while he gambled. I don't even know, if CP is still considered a nice hotel. We toured Luxor & thought it was very nice too. We made our dream list of resorts, but didn't think it would take us 25++ years to get back there. We still haven't. :(

One of the things I remember about Caesar's Palace was the pool felt like swimming in a freezer. :cold: This was in July & the water was so cold it was painful. Needless to say, we didn't spend much time there. I don't know, if it's still that way. If it is, I'd check that off my list, if pool time is a priority. :rotfl:

It sounds like you've planned a fantastic trip. Enjoy!

Yep Caesar Palace is still one of the best, I loved therepool, the Roman style was so cool. (I got upgraded to a mini suite by doing the 20 dollar trick thier) Im not a gambler either, I might do20 a day in the slot machines cause I feel obligated

Your gambling sounds like mine. I bought a roll of nickels to appease DH & gambled on that for a week. The pool must have been been chilled much more than normal, when we were there. The water was so cold that it felt like constant skin pricks. We couldn't tolerate more than a couple minutes at a time. :scared1:

England and Scotland for a month in June and July. We had to cancel some trips due to my knee injury and surgery late last year. We're using the money we would have spent on those to pay for the trip. It will be my sons' first overseas trip. They're excited.

Disney in August!!

The time seems to be going especially slowly this year, but I am hoping it will accelerate once it gets warmer.

After that, I enjoy the Catskills in October, and after that... who knows!

DH and I just got back from 4 days in San Diego for a family wedding. Then we're going to Hilton Head for a week in April, Virginia Beach for a week in July and taking the 2 college kids on a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas over Christmas Break.

Next year I'd love to go to New Orleans over Easter Week, and I'm still trying to save up for an eventual South African safari. Paying for the kids' college is getting in the way though!

A week at the Jersey shore for the 4th of July. But while eating at a cafe in Cape May I'll be wishing for THE Cape May Cafe!!!

Thank you, I've never been to either country. I'm planning a trip to South Africa with a safari. Don't know when or with what money but it's still fun to plan.
South Africa is on my list too. I'd hope to take my DH and 2 college kids before the oldest one graduated and could no longer go with us due to work schedules. He graduates in 2019. I figured I needed about $9000, but I just can't seem to save it up.

What are your plans? We plan to trade our timeshare through RCI for a week near Kruger Park (near either the Paul Kruger gate or the Phabeni Gate). We'd stay for a week, do self drives into Kruger and visit the surrounding areas. Then we'd moved into middle Kruger Park and stay at either the Tamboti Tent Camp or the Orpen Rest Camp inside the park for a couple of days. After that, we'd drive out of Kruger and stay at a private safari camp for 2 or 3 days (maybe Shindzela or nThambo or Umkumbe), so we could experience the guided drives, meals cooked for us, sun downers planned for us, etc. I want a little taste of champagne on my beer budget. The most expensive part of the trip will be the flights from the DC area to SA.

Technically WDW May 7 but my birthday is in early April and I'm going to try to talk honey into maybe a long weekend somewhere. We are in the process of looking into buying an RV and there is a dealer about 3 hours away from us in north Ga. with some we want to look at so we might drive there and do one night on or near my birthday but I don't count that.

@low-key Love LV! Been a couple years though, thinking possibly this October-this is a big maybe (big extended family trip-we did that a couple years ago for wedding, so much fun we've been trying to get back, and our oldest turns 21 in October)

St Louis in two weeks for a long weekend
Love me some Ted Drewes!!

The Black Hills in October.
My childhood stomping grounds! Need to get my kids there someday soon!

Next trip: Disney in June (FW cabins, beach, then TS for a week, Marriott Cypress Harbour). Then Chicago in July-might finally get to see the STL Cardinals play Cubs at Wrigley! Then someone's gotta go get DD from Orlando at end of her DCP program in August. Cruise in October.

I have a son who goes to college down by the ocean now, so that is my new vacation spot. Next year I will also have one in college in the mountains! PERFECT! We can go back and forth.....

I haven't figured out the trip yet. I keep getting overwhelmed by the price. While I'd love to take my college aged kids too (3) I figure that would be 10 grand for the flights alone, or very close to it. Plus they all have long term significant others whom we've already paid to take two of them to Hawaii for Xmas one year. No way can we afford to take them on this trip. I want to spend some time in Cape Town and drive along some of the coast first before going to some camps. We have a beer budget with champagne tastes too but I'm not into self driving in these places. I've read even recent stories about terrible signage in reserves and people getting lost or killed by a lion. I'd rather have a guided tour on the reserves. I'd love to fly into Kenya and Tanzania as well since we already will be over there but would only do that with a tour, maybe from Cape Town. I'm expecting that it's going to cost at least $12,000 for the two of us, including airfare (almost $4000 eaten up by airfare). Sounds very daunting now, after typing that out.
